FAQs about hotels in Leeds

Stylish, Stately and A Shopping Haven!

Between Bronte Country and the Yorkshire Dales, Leeds is a stately city with a wealth of impressive Georgian and Victorian buildings. The most celebrated is the town hall, a Grade I-listed gem with a huge clock tower supported by columns. Just around the corner is the understated Leeds Cathedral, and between the two is Millennium Square, a large urban space that plays host to outdoor concerts and a German Christmas market.

Shopping in Leeds is fantastic. Kirkgate Market is Europe’s largest covered market, and the magnificent, round Corn Exchange is home to exclusive boutiques. The city also has the first Harvey Nichols outside of London, as well as the usual high street brands.

As home to 2 large universities, Leeds has a young and vibrant vibe. It has repeatedly been voted the clubbing capital of the UK and is home to the Leeds Festival, an annual music event that attracts thousands.

The city also has excellent sporting pedigree. Internationals are held at Headingley cricket ground, and Leeds United FC and the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team are well-known names in their fields.

On the outskirts of the city are wonderful Roundhay Park, Kirkstall Abbey and Leeds-Bradford International Airport. Leeds accommodation on Booking.com covers all areas of this elegant city.

Leeds has a lot to offer including, shopping, various museums, parks and entertainment. The Dales are in easy reach even by bus. The city is well connected by train. There is also the Middleton Railway which first ran steam trains before Stephenson.

Leeds is a vibrant and interesting city with plenty to see...

Leeds is a vibrant and interesting city with plenty to see and do. The bars I visited had a friendly atmosphere, and there's a large LGBTQ+ nightlife scene for those looking for it. At night, there was a noticeable police presence, which seemed appropriate given how busy the city centre becomes. I also encountered a significant number of people asking for money, and on a few occasions they continued walking alongside me after I'd declined, which made me feel uncomfortable. As the evening progressed, some areas of the city felt less comfortable than others. While many parts were lively and enjoyable, there were a few streets where I personally wouldn't have felt confident walking alone late at night. Overall, it's a city with a lot to offer, but it's worth being aware of your surroundings after dark.

Very good museums, especially the fantastic Armouries. A very walkable city and visually an attractive one. Lots of good places to eat. If you enjoy museums and art galleries there are the makings of a good value city break with quite a few free places to see.

Loads of construction work in the centre.

Loads of construction work in the centre. Bus lanes, bike lanes, one ways etc etc. We walked or used ubers to get around, glad I didnt drive in the city. Otherwise, looks like a nice town. We went for a graduation so didnt see that much of the city attractions, but there does seem to be a fair amount to see in a fairly small area.

The road works were a nightmare, they seemed like it was every street. I loved the arena, but the number of strang men on e bikes in the pedestrian areas with no lights was a bit alarming & if i hadn’t been walking in the traffic from the gig, it could have felt unsafe. We ate at Gino d’campo, service was very slow, meals only ok, i think we would have been better at an authentic italisn & not a chain, garlic bread was nice bread but couldn’t taste the garlic. I walked to the first direct arena & back

Room was very comfortable. Staff welcoming. Breakfast was good. The location was ideal - meant I didn't have to drive too far into Leeds to get to it, but also meant I was in walking distance of the city centre. The multi-storey car park next door was ideal. Was able to enjoy a drink after the event thanks to the hotel bar's great opening times.
