Great gem to stay in while in Liverpool. Everything was close by and really enjoyed the size of the rooms. We stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday night so did not have to worry about the sound outside - I can imagine It could be loud on a weekend. The brunette woman who showed us to our room was really kind and lovely. Would stay here again!!

Excellent regeneration of an historic building Great location in the heart of Ropewalks but very good soundproofing so we slept like babies Nice simple, interior design in both rooms and common areas Clean and fresh Liked the kitchenettes in our rooms though we didn’t use them. Fun art projections outside lifts on ground floor Exceptional service from the Resident crew: Christian, Darius and Maria. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable

All the people who work at the Royal are so welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The food served in the bar was excellent. You need to go hungry! Service is also excellent. Both at dinner and breakfast there is a great choice on the menu. Location is excellent. A short walk to the beach and also to the station, for a regular train service to Liverpool centre. We always enjoy our stays at The Royal.

Look up - the architecture is fabulous and look up the history of each building, it's fascinating. Visit the museums, there are lots of them. Eating out, you'll be spoilt for choice. Check out the small independent eating places, they are well worth it.

I love Liverpool and have stayed/worked in the city quite a few times, the opportunity to show my youngest daughter the city was the main reason for my visit. The city and her people are a credit to each other. Best city in the UK to spend a few days enjoying everything it has to offer. We done stadium tour, Albert docks, shopping in Liverpool ONE, some fun at mini golf, bowling and go karting. Visited the liver building and of course took a ferry across the Mersey.

I was pleasantly surprised by Liverpool with the only disappointment being the City Bus tour which was very short with the guide more interested in promoting local cafes and restaurants then the history and culture of Liverpool - the tour included very little about The Beatles and mentioned nothing about football which was a bit surprising

We found Liverpool to be very friendly and clean. The credit goes to the staff around the city who continually keep the city clean. People of Liverpool must be proud of them. The photo of my wife and I was taken by one of the Dock staff, thank you.

Major Closures 2026: Be aware that the Tate Gallery, International Slavery Museum, and Maritime Museum are currently closed for major redevelopments. There is "mini" TATE opened Local Transport Tip: If you are traveling in a group (like our group of 4), skip the buses. Uber consistently worked out cheaper and more convenient for getting around the city. Crosby Beach: A must-see for the Antony Gormley statues, but essential to check the tide times before you go—otherwise, the "Iron Men" might be completely underwater! Liverpool ONE: A great, modern hub right in the city centre. Red Brick Market: Our favorite for independent shops and quirky finds. If you're planning a route, don't miss these: World Museum & Central Library: Incredible exhibits and stunning architecture. The Cathedrals: Both the Anglican and Metropolitan are breathtaking. Walker Art Gallery: A world-class collection that is still fully open. River Mersey Boat Cruise: The best way to see the famous skyline.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Liverpool.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Liverpool. Lots to see and do, the Waterfront (docks) has some iconic buildings and lovely places to eat and drink. Lots of pubs on Matthew Street (Wall of fame, Cavern Club) Hope Street in the Georgian Quarter has nice restaurants and bars, there are 2 cathedrals and is popular for film sets. We drove to LFC, great to see all of the murals and Stanley Park.
