Wonderful property, very spacious rooms and facilities with everything we needed, including a bar with great food. They even packed a breakfast for us since we had to leave very early for our flight. We would love to come back!

The room and privacy. I stayed for only one night. The staff members are the life blood of that hotel. Top top stars.

Check-in staff was polite and thorough, even brought us to our door.
The room was clean, and the hotel itself seemed fine. A restaurant and bar in the hotel is a huge plus. Oscar's is well priced. We asked for a room away from the bar and got one far from it (thank you!). Unfortunately, the other side of the building has a road that stays somewhat active at night, as well as a grocery store. People stopped being loud around 11 pm but were loud again when walking by at 6 am. It's not a huge deal for us, but if you like the window open and are a light sleeper, keep it in mind.
The hallway in the second building is a little tight, as they've added a small pedestal on the stairway. It looks nice, but it really needs to go, lol.
Overall, it was a great value

I made the booking for my parents, as they were marking their 55th Wedding Anniversary and Dad's 80th birthday.
Staff communication prior to their visit was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they assured me my parents would be well looked after during their stay. This promise was met and exceeded. Mum and Dad have returned home today and couldn't compliment the stay and all aspects of their stay enough. A lovely, spacious room, with unsuite to suit their needs; a fabulous fruit platter upon arrival; friendly, attentive and dedicated staff who knew exactly who they were and made them feel so valued; a great restaurant where they ate each night with delicious food, which was very reasonably priced; a huge choice for breakfast with food made to order....even a birthday cake for Dad on the day, when staff sang and congratulated him. I suspect there are more areas of praise than this as I only saw them briefly to take them home from the airport today but they said they'd had a fabulous stay. For my part, I felt reassured from the moment I booked that I had picked the right accommodation. I've never received so much care and attention with a booking and can't thank the staff enough for giving my parents the wonderful time away they so deserved. I only wish I'd been there too! 😆

We visited Jupiter Artland, this was the primary reason for visiting Livingston and we wish we had put aside more time to explore other parts of the area.
Jupiter Artland was superb - well worth a visit!

We didn't actually do anything in Livingston, just used it as a place to stay while at another event in Edinburgh. What we did see while driving looked OK though. There was a couple of food places across the road from our hotel (Livingston Lodge) which were good.

The shopping centre is a 7 or 8 minute walk from Mercure Hotel. It is enormous. We looked round main shopping mall in the morning and the designer mall in the afternoon. Filled a whole day. Electric car chargers behind Asda but a little tricky to find the way in the car. We found them by walking then went back to get car to plug in. Sat Nav invaluable in Livingston.

Fantastic shopping centre and designer outlet as well as lots of retail parks. There are plenty of outdoor spaces and sports facilities as well as places of interest close by. Lots of options for dining in or takeaway. Easy to get around by car as long as you don't mind roundabouts!

Hotel is lovely and we had a really nice large room, to accommodate our little guest & the dog too! Very dog friendly as opposed to hotels just being dog tolerant. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had breakfast delivered to the room & enjoyed a lovely morning at the pool before some pumpkin picking nearby in the afternoon. Highly recommend Houston House, traditional, quaint, but very warm & friendly stay.
the location was perfect for me walks & cycle paths everywhere through woods & open spaces..plus train station all on the door step.
Good coffee maker in bedroom & a fridge available if required. Very relaxed pleasant atmosphere to hotel
