This was a special trip and first hotel accommodation for my fiance Mark 's surprise retirement and 65th Birthday holiday. I did pre-advise the hotel before arriving and was overwhelmed with our fabulous two storey penthouse room you so kindly allocated. This gesture by your hotel totally set the tone for what was a holiday of a lifetime, Thank you so much. Finally, the young red headed lady who checked us in was a ball of absolute pleasure and positivity.

Manchester is cleaarly a City of great transformation and well worth visiting. We went to the Art Gallery and Museum and both are recommended. Care must be taken of the trams for those not used to these trundling through pedestrianised areas but they provide a good way of seeing the City. The City has an industrial heritage and many of its buildings have architectual quality reflecting the prosperity of the City in former times as a place of commerece and manufacture..

Friday evening we arrived, and for the weekend the main plan was Old Trafford, so we only had free time in the evenings. On Monday we would have liked to see a few more places before heading back, but unfortunately most things were closed. Still, we managed to try a few pubs, which I can definitely recommend, along with the Manchester beers 🙂

I had heard about how the current Mayor of Manchester had made massive improvements to the City. I dread to think what it was like before he became Mayor. There was a lot of rubbish left lying around on the streets and lots of groups of single men hanging around the the streets which made my children feel uncomfortable and anxious. We would only visit again if it was the only location where a show or concert was being held. On a positive note, the public transport is excellent.

The hotel was in a good location, quite close to Salford central train station. Cards with details of the hotel location, postcode, telephone contact would be useful. Particularly for taxi firms who ask for postcode. Hotel staff were helpful when taxi was required.

Fabulous surprise to find such a comprehensive array of things to help make a stay comfortable in the room. The design and styling were also first rate and for the first time in a UK City centre hotel managed to get a goo night's sleep with the very comfortable bed and pillows and air condition that worked quietly. Just goes to prove that a UK offer can be just as good as the best on the continent. Location of course being so central perfect. Well done, we will be back!

I liked the location of the hotel as it was central to the city centre. I liked the room we were in; it was spacious and very comfortable.
