FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Whether you’re flying into Manchester International Airport for business or partying in one of the 500 bars in city, Booking.com’s hotels and apartments can match your accommodation needs.

Manchester is a truly great city that completely exceeded expectations. It has an incredibly rich industrial history and is packed with interesting places to visit, from the stunning Gothic architecture of the John Rylands Library to vibrant canals of Castlefield. What makes it even better is its unique location. Right on the city's doorstep, you can escape the urban bustle and find yourself in a beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park. It’s the perfect destination if you love a buzzing city life but still want to enjoy scenic hikes and fresh air. Highly recommended!

It was lovely to go to the Trafford centre but coming to wilmslow rd for food it isn’t safe. A lot of thieves around so do be careful. Was a shame that our visit was ruined. City centre was nice to explore.

I liked the fact that I could cook using their kitchen utensils although they lacked every cooking material eg garlic, onion, I met an almost empty bottle of groundnut oil, the only thing available there was salt…. They lacked cutleries, no knife, shopping board, …. Just small pots, and pan.

I went to a gig of Pakistani Sufi music at Aviva Studios, walked through the Northern Quarter, went to a bad Chinese restaurant, spent ages in Manchester Art Gallery and did a lot of walking through the middle of town. Cafe Istanbul is good, with the best chilli sauce I've ever tasted. The mixture of architectural styles, clubbers dressed in their underwear, trams constantly parping and traditional rain kept me stimulated. I'll certainly go back, to Media City, The Lowry (even though his paintings don't do much for me), the Science and Industry Museum and elsewhere.

There looked like there was a lot to see and do but we only had 2 nights there. Our reason for visiting was to go to Old Trafford which was a brilliant experience and highlight for 12 year old son. Our hotel was 5 mins walk from city centre so we had a chance to explore. Trams were off but Uber was cheap and relatively easy to use to get around for our tour.

I really enjoyed my stay at Wilde Manchester City Centre. Things I appreciated: 1. the cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general; 2. the lovely city view (it's a high-rise building), 3. the fact that the room came with a kitchen, which was very convenient; 4. the location, right next to Manchester Central Library and the St.Peter's Square tram stop. 15 mins from Piccadilly train station, and 5 mins from Manchester Oxford Road station. Super nice! The staff was also friendly.

This hotel is a superb location for Manchester City Centre and for the trams which link right across the wider area. The room, on the first floor, was quiet and comfortable. Though not large, it had everything you would need. The continental breakfast is of good quality.
