Breakfast lovely. Even better when ordered from kitchen and not self service due to low occupancy
In the only Royal Harbor in the country, The Royal Oak Hotel offers marina and harbor views, in the seaside resort of Ramsgate. The town offers tranquil sunsets and lively nightlife at weekends.

Stephano, the owner, helped us get a much better room on the first floor since the original room was on upper floors. I can't go up steep stairs without huffing puffing due to heart condition and asthma. He let us check in early at 1pm, as well. The new owner redecorated the rooms and the king bed was amazingly comfortable. We had a sea marina view from our room. The shower was great ,too.

The room was immaculate, and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was also spotless. The staff where exceptionally polite and made us feel very welcome. The food was incredible, we had dinner and breakfast, the dinner was one of the best meals I have had in years, and I could not fault the breakfast at all. 10/10, we will stay again and I would definitely recommend to others.

Beautifully appointed and super spacious room. Was upgraded to a sea view room, which was absolutely delightful. Breakfast was a nice spread of options and coffee with larger dishes for purchase, I was fine with what was provided. Convenient to have a restaurant on site for a late bite or glass of wine before turning in. Staff were all super helpful. Can walk everywhere in town from here.

Minster is a quiet little village but close (10 minutes) from both Margate and Ramsgate. The online photos show nothing of Minster and being a local I'm unsure what the photos are of.
The hotel is very convenient for the seaside resorts and 30 minutes from Dover.
Minster has a fantastic pub (Bell Inn) and a Turkish restaurant but you are close to a lot of other eateries within 10 minutes drive.
I would not eat dinner at this hotel - poor value all round.

We had a great break at Poppy Lodge.
We had a great break at Poppy Lodge. Everything was provided by our hosts, Gary and Steph. The lodge was great and heated throughout which was helpful as the weather was a bit mixed. The hot tub was excellent that made a great addition to our holiday. Also, the lodge provided a great place for our small dog, Ted, as it was safe and secure allowing him to explore things around the lodge. Would thoroughly recommend to others.

I didn’t like any of it
I didn’t like any of it
The first room I was given was in the basement with a view of a wall no settee bed and no soap in the toilet to wash my hands
After complaining was moved to another room that was ok
How ever there was no chef on site so had to go to premier inn for dinner
The staff were very helpful and friendly but were limited to what they could do
I normally stay at premier inn when I go away but heard such good things about holiday inn I thought I’d give it ago
Was very disappointed and after talking to other people staying there they said the same

Pleasant enough, clean & tidy..... although I had booked a standard room... I assumed it would be a double bed but on arrival I ended up with a room with 2 single beds...., apparently you have to specify but I didn’t see that, so be careful!!!! I have to say the bed & bedding were really nice... super comfy bed.
Nice staff.
Really nice breakfast but NO fried eggs just scrambled (not bad)
I would recommend for a pass through or business but not for a romantic visit.

This was a last minute booking so had to to take what was on offer. I didn't know Minster but found it to be in a great position for visiting this part of the Kent Coast and surrounding Cities, Canterbury Cathedral, Dover Castle, and the rest of the Cinque Ports. Some of the beaches in this area are fabulous. Can't say much more apart from we all enjoyed our stay and will probably return sometime in the future.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was very enjoyable and warm.
The hotel is located in a handy area with plenty of shops and places to visit.
I would definitely stay here again.
Far better value than a hotel with separate kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge. Very clean with everything you need including a few extras like eggs, bread, cereal etc
Hotel a bit in the middle of nowhere. On crossroads towards Broadstairs or Margate. But good standard hotel. Good rooms, good working aircon and decent breakfast.
Really easy to find with off-road parking right outside. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Location was only a few yards from the centre of Minster.
