We received such a warm, personal welcome at the Apple Tree. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was such a peaceful, rural location and so relaxing. The food was excellent (the best lemon sole I've ever had) and the rooms were thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. I would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend it!

What a wonderful lodge. It has everything you need and it is beautifully presented. Extra bits like muffins, milk, tea & coffee and condiments . Thanks also for the bottles of cider.
Lovely secluded patio garden in front of the lodge and out the back through the bi-folding doors. Suzanne has really thought of everything and it shows. It's a real gem .

I was just visiting family who have lived in Nether Stowey for some years so we are very familiar with the village . It is very pleasant in the summer but less so on a dark wet December day such as we have just experienced.

Interesting little village which lives and breathes Samuel Coleridge Taylor, whose house is open and run by the NT. I guess it makes a useful base for walking the Quantocks and would provide a good overnight stop en route to/from Cornwall.

Lovely village, would have liked to explore the village and Quantocks a little more but the weather was against us. Nice place to stay for some fantastic rambles and horse riding. We stayed and ate at the Ancient Mariner, very comfortable and amazing food, hospitality and staff.

It's a nice village with a few choices to eat.
It's a nice village with a few choices to eat. The main road itself is quite busy during the day and parking spaces are at a minimum. There are many walks to be had and Nether Stowey itself is a good stop off if you are travelling to Cornwall.

We enjoyed every minute at the hotel.
We enjoyed every minute at the hotel. Carol is so friendly and the food is delicious.
All the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The room was ideal and a good size for two retrievers as well.
I only booked a few days before we were due to visit, so lucky to get a room at such short notice!I
Carol opened the pool early in the morning so I had a very invigorating swim which set me up for the rest of the day.
The views are stunning and the gardens are so pretty.
Plenty of room for the dogs to enjoy walking around the grounds.
Definitely be back.
Thank you so much to all the staff at Castle of Comfort xx

We loved our stay at the Old house! The room was full of character and very comfortable, breakfast was wonderful and the gardens were beautiful. The hosts were lovely and accommodating too. Brilliant location. To access Quantock lakes wedding venue.
A great stay.
Very cosy, warm good sized room with most comfortable bed. Roomy bathroom, nice toiletries and tea making and biscuits provided. Perfect location for a 2 night stay for us with a family wedding nearby
The location was great, easy to go for walks. There are 2 pubs just a 3 minute walk away from the accommodation and a corner shop so we really didnt need anything else. Lots of parking available.
