Amazing hotel. Rooms are big enough, clean, bathroom exceptional with shower and bath. Provided with all necessary for a comfortable stance, kettle, coffee, tea, milk, warm and cosy. Bed was bigger that I've ever seen. Swimming pool, hot tube, sauna, steam bath, was perfect. Changing rooms clean and with lockers to lock all your staff. Water temperature was perfect, and swimming pool was clean. Food is amazing, and breakfast was wonderful. Definetly a place I would recommend to everyone that is on that area. Staff very friendly, approachable, and welcoming. Loved this hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Plymouth

Life By the Ocean Wave

From prehistory to the present, the very essence of Plymouth has been inextricably linked to the sea. The Pilgrim Fathers departed from here and named their new Massachusetts settlement after it, and Sir Francis Drake famously finished his game of bowls on The Hoe before combatting the Spanish Armada.

Western Europe’s largest naval base – HMNB Devonport – is in its natural harbour, and in The Barbican fishing boats bob up and down by cobbled streets lined with historic buildings. Jacka Bakery here is the oldest in Britain and there are plenty of galleries, bars and restaurants, though Union Street has the best nightlife.

At one end of the street is the Theatre Royal, and from the other ferries depart to France and Spain, passing the Mount Batten peninsula and offshore rocks that once housed Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse, now in Hoe Park next to the Royal Citadel.

Overlooking the park is the Lord Mayor’s residence, once home to Waldorf and Nancy Astor, and other street and building names are reminders of Plymouth’s illustrious connections.

Other attractions include the National Marine Aquarium, the City Museum and Art Gallery and Grade II-listed Saltram House. All are easily reached from Booking.com’s Plymouth accommodation, including luxury hotels with swimming pools, cheap guest houses and country houses with parking.

So much to see and do in one weekend.

So much to see and do in one weekend. We learned so much of the history of Plymouth on the boat trip including how the King's Shilling was slipped into a mug of beer by the Press Gangs.....hence 'being taken for a mug.' We took the Cremyll Ferry to Mount Edgcumbe Park where we saw Lamas. The Orangery is situated in a beautiful garden and is a lovely place to sit and drink tea. The pub right by the water serves really good food.

Fantastic sea-swimming, with lots of facilities and spaces to swim in the ocean (The Terrace for swimmers, pontoons moored nearby, several entry points with steps and handrails, outdoor Lido). Lovely variety of eateries (seafood, Asian, Korean, British pub-style, Tea-rooms etc). Several ferry trips to different locations available (Cremyll, Tor Point, Royal William Yard) including a short trip to Cornwall (around 30 mins) that lands on Cawsand beach. Beautiful scenery and vantage points, being quite a hilly city. Ocean View at The Dome provided excellent breakfasts with stunning views.

The Hotel Bistro was not open on Sundays which was disappointing however Plymouth in general was full,of places to eat, we visited the National Marine Aquarium which was well worth visiting, The Barbican was within easy walking distance of our hotel was full,of shops and restaurants, we also walked to the Hoe but didn’t go down to the waterside.
