The Continental breakfast was included in the price and was fine. Because their resident Chinese restaurant is closed on a Tuesday - the night we stayed - they arrange for travelling caterers to set up outside on a Tuesday so we were able to purchase food and eat inside the pub. This was very acceptable. Next time we stay we will hope to try the resident Chinese. The pub which is several hundred years old has been very well renovated. Just the floorboards in some bedrooms need attention! Location is good for us as an overnight stop as it allows us to decide at the time which route to take from the Shuttle to home in Salford as it is equidistant from the two motorway routes we have to choose from.

The Merrie Lion is a delightful pub and inn with exceptional service. Everyone was warm, kind, and friendly and so attentive to our needs. Every meal we had was delicious--especially the breakfasts each morning. The room was well appointed with modern yet cozy decor. The room was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. If you are looking for a charming village from where you can take long walks through the countryside, Fenny Compton is the place to stay.

This was a great location only 6 minutes drive from Daventry. The room is a converted garage but with much more space than a normal 2 car garage. The decoration and renovation have been tastefully done and the owner popped in to check we had everything we required.

Pretty pub in a lovely village. The staff were great - helpful & knowledgeable. There was a great choice of food on the menu & we all (3 of us) agreed it was a lovely meal. The smoked haddock mousse was amazing! Our room was immaculate & very comfortable. A very good experience.
