A really lovely river side lodge. We stayed just one night but wish it could have been longer! Tastefully decorated, large rooms, great shower and a very warm welcome. Didn't sample the restaurant but the menu looked amazing. Close to the Crawick Multiverse which looked incredible.

Beautiful gardens, lovely setting, friendly welcome and outstanding food. The separate dog-friendly restaurant (she even got a cooked breakfast!) was a bonus. We booked the hotel fairly randomly as an overnight stop on the way to the highlands and I can’t believe we got so lucky. It was wonderful.

Really well furnished and all the amenities were excellent. Views were great. Very quiet. Owners were very friendly & accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend the Granary. You do need a car as the cottage is quite remote.

Sanquhar is a great place.
Sanquhar is a great place. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. There is a good selection of shops and cafes. Plenty of walking to be done. We loved the FUN pool: it is clean and the water is a really nice temperature. The town is an ideal base for exploring the wider area, including the stunning Galloway Forest Park.

The hotel is situated in its own grounds, a little way off...
The hotel is situated in its own grounds, a little way off the main road. It is adjacent to the local swimming pool .It has a good vegetable garden and grows it's own produce. There are lovely rural views from the windows. We didn't get the chance to explore Sanquar itself as we were just there for one night and had a full itinery. However, the town is situated in very pretty countryside. Local sites include Crawick Multiverse, which we didn't have time to visit, but other guests raved about it. Sanquar is just a few miles from Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries House, both of which were really worth a visit, despite the poor weather we experienced. You do need to pre-book your visit to both.

The meals in the evening there was not much of a choice your bog standed pie and chips fish and chips there were no steaks on the menu may be this was due to covid
The only down fall was the dogs
When we arrived there was 3 dogs yapping at yeh and meal times the dogs were just left to roam were ever they wanted even in the meal room were people were eating.
But over all our stay was quite pleasant
