What a fantastic stay we had. We couldn't fault it. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room exceeded our expectations and was absolutely fantastic and the dining in the garden with the view of overlooking the river was the icing on the cake to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

The location was excellent. The service was good and the staff friendly. I really liked the décor throughout the hotel - soft and very appealing. All the wallpapers were really tasteful and well co-ordinated to me! It all looked in good condition and well looked after. Our dinner on the first evening was good - soup for starter - excellent. My pasta main course was 5*. Dessert not quite as good but fine! I would stay again if needed a hotel in that area. Not something I have said about most places I've stayed at. So a first class rating from me!

The breakfast was decent, though it was a little off-putting to listen to the staff talking about trying to get pregnant while we were eating.

Little touches like the hooks on the wall. They've thought of everything you need and want in a hotel room. Everything was superb. Great value for money.

This hotel is a hidden gem, very clean, tidy room. Beds were so comfortable. The staff were so friendly and nothing to much trouble. The breakfast in the morning was 10 out of 10, delicious compliments to the chef and the waitress was lovely. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, will definitely stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Great town! There is so much to see and explore. Whether you are interested in historic places or just prefer to wander round the numerous independent boutiques - Shrewsbury has it all. As well as a large park, river walks, beautiful gardens and loads of great places to eat and drink.

Shrewsbury has lots of things to see and very hilly so need good comfy shoes. Lots of cafes and eateries available. 1 day stay not enough and sadly we missed out on the market. The boot ride on the river was very informative and they do serve drinks on there as we were not sure , just to give heads up. Park is lovely and has café. You can rent a Kayak if you fancy.

Lots of shops, brands and independents, great selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs.
Terrible traffic and one way system, on Sat and Sunday, add 45 mins onto journey if staying in town centre.
Hilly location so be prepared to take your time walking around and exploring.
Lots of events on in the town so do check if things like Loop Fest are your thing, lots of drunk people and vomit on streets on the next day so if live music is not your thing then avoid it during this event.

Beautiful city, easy to get around but hilly for those less able to walk. Ideal with the town in the centre, the tow path for walking and the river loop beautiful. The people exceptionally friendly and helpful. I recommend the boat trip.

The Lion & Pheasant is a wonderful bespoke friendly hotel. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was well prepared and comfortable. The food was amazing. The evening email we had was excellent, and the breakfasts were all great. It is a very popular restaurant so book in advance.. It is located on one of the main routes into Shrewsbury. Would definitely stay again.
