Great location, right on sea front, with parking at rear. Right in the heart of the town.Staff were superb, nothing too much trouble, very considerate. Breakfasts very good. Lovely atmosphere and feel to the place. Our family had rooms on 1st,2nd &3rd floors, all varied and 1st&2nd floor easy level access from lift, ideal for the older members of family. Rooms newly refurbished, light and airy, very comfortable beds, and quiet location with just sound of the waves.

Good choice of hotels and good shops in the town if the weather isn't great. (Loads of really good charity shops!) Not many restaurants are open in the evenings (especially early in the week) so you need to book in advance. Myca, Pea Green Boat and The Loft are all good. Much more choice at lunchtime and good coffee/tea shops with lovely cakes. The Scott cinema and Marine theatre are both sweet and worth a visit. Buses go to a few places if you don't have a car - and seem to be very reliable. Jacobs Ladder beach and the Connaught Gardens are well worth visiting and are nicer than the town beach yet still very close to the centre. Be aware that rocks etc can fall from the cliffs! The Jurassic coastline is amazing but it can crumble suddenly.

Sidmouth was a beautiful little seaside town with plenty of places to eat and drink! Dog friendly beach in winter and lots of dog-friendly pubs/cafes! Beach is shingle/large pebble so not for everyone, but there’s a promenade/path the whole way along! Lots of nice little independent shops & charity shops! Parking gets very busy so you’re better off parking in the ‘weekend and walk’ car park slightly outside town - not far at all! We visited in February but I’ve been told is gets very busy from May onwards. There is a folk festival on the first weekend of August every year which I hear is great (but very busy)!

Clean and friendly, lovely relaxing atmosphere. Great local pub, The Anchor, right in the middle of town, great service and food. Really good variety of shops, with hardly any vacant stores. Clean beach and great walk along the front. A very well kept resort which makes a change.

There's nothing there but the countryside. Great for a solo weekend trip, but probably 1 week was too long. Especially when the accommodation was disappointing. And from London, I don't think it's worth the drive.

Having stayed in two hotels and two B&Bs on our Cornish trip I would rate the B&Bs much higher than the hotels for bed comfort, hospitality and attention to the guests. We had a nice quiet bedroom which helped a great night’s sleep. Breakfast choice offered was huge so one would have to go a long way to beat the choice for a non cooked breakfast. Hospitality and help was also good so would recommend to anyone who wishes to stay just outside Sidmouth

Stayed here before and will again. Excellent location, rooms are well equipped and comfy, especially like the provision of a bottle of water (glass not plastic). They seem to be quite ethical, with excellent breakfast options catering to a full range of sustainable provisions and lifestyle choices. They are less formal than their sister hotels, which is great for those young at heart as Dukes is the social hub of Sidmouth.

Lovely apartment in excellent location a couple of minutes walk from the seafront and the town centre. We have always previously stayed in hotels in Sidmouth, but this was much more convenient, especially with the guaranteed parking space and we would definitely consider staying again. The hosts were very helpful and addressed a small problem we had very quickly.

Small quiet hotel, with a family run feel, set in lovely gardens in a peaceful area of Sidmouth, within easy walking distance of the sea front and town. Lovely choice for breakfast which fills you up for the day. Evening meal, which needed to be booked in advance, was delicious and served by friendly staff. There is a lovely lounge to enjoy an evening drink.

The location was excellent for visiting our mother, as she lives in Sidmouth but the cost of hotels, etc., there is huge. The apartment was well-equipped with utensils, towels, bedding, etc., and very clean indeed. The beds were comfortable and the location was wonderfully quiet. Perhaps next time we will bring our dogs!
