"We visit London at least once a year and always have a fantastic time. We love the theatres, the atmosphere and events such as BST Hyde Park, and we've never had any problems. This time we also tried Thai Square Trafalgar Square for the first time, and it was outstanding. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. We'd definitely recommend it. The only negative experience we've had was with a cycle rickshaw (pedicab). Before getting in, my wife asked the rider how much it would cost to take us back to our hotel, around 1.5 miles away, and he clearly said £25. When we arrived, he tried to charge us £50, claiming the £25 was per person, despite never mentioning that beforehand. We paid the £25 that had originally been agreed and nothing more. I've since heard of other visitors being quoted a fare, only to be told at the end that it was per person or even per mile. My advice is to avoid any misunderstanding by agreeing the total price for the whole journey before setting off. Other than that, London remains one of our favourite cities. There's always something to see and do, and we're already looking forward to our next visit."

"I absolutely love visiting Manchester. There is an excellent choice of restaurants, bars and shops. Walking about the city is always an adventure and the artwork seen throughout on various buildings is stunning. Also, the tram service is excellent and we we were able to get back and forth from gig venues with ease. I cannot wait to come back again in the near future and would recommend anyone to visit."

"Edinburgh is a truly beautiful place full of friendly and smiling people. There are wonderful sights, and many of them even have free admission, for example, some galleries with valuable artworks. The city itself is very lively, and a lot of places can be visited on foot, although you can end up walking quite a bit. The locals are very polite and in good spirits. The food is very tasty, I highly recommend trying the local coffees, which are great.During our trip, we visited Edinburgh Castle, the local park with the Ross Fountain, and the colorful Victoria Street, where we had dinner at The Whirlybird (they have excellent burgers). We also managed to snag a spot at The Elephant House and the popular Frankenstein club, where we watched a local show. You definitely shouldn't miss a walk through Dean Village and the galleries. Cafés like Hideout Cafe, Cairngorm Coffee, Cobbled Roastery, or Artisan Coffee (where we bought some coffee beans to take home) are wonderful spots for a delicious coffee. The University of Edinburgh, the various charming alleys, and the view from Calton Hill are also beautiful. The Museum of Magic was quite interesting, as was the Black Moon Botanica shop, though you sometimes have to wait in line to get in. One of the best meals we had was at the Indian restaurant Tamil Teru in New Town. If you enjoy good beer and a friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend The Blue Blazer. We visited many landmarks, but it would take more time because there is just so much to see. We traveled during the high season, so it was really crowded with tourists, but we always managed to find a place to sit or eat. Edinburgh is full of lovely places and good restaurants. I definitely recommend visiting this beautiful city!"

Glasgow

"I had never been to Glasgow before and loved it: the monumental architecture is amazing. We spent 3 nights there in October giving us 2 full days; you need at least that to see the main city. The first day we walked to the "West End" to visit Kelvingrove Gallery and the Hunterian Gallery with The Mackintosh House. We took a scenic route there-probably about 90mins and a more direct route back to the hotel in West George Street, probably half the time. The second day we did the "East End" visiting the Cathedral, the Museum of Religion and the Necropolis and then walked to the river. Timing much as before. I thoroughly recommend the Willow Tea Rooms in Buchanan Street both for breakfast and High Tea-lovely people and food and very pretty rooms and The Last Book Store in Hope Street for Tapas. Lots of independent quaint coffee shops if you look for them."

"Even though I’m from Liverpool, it’s such an amazing city to explore and this time we stayed at the Lake house right on the beach. I would highly recommend. We ate on veranda of the lake house restaurant and the seafood was on par with restaurants in Cyprus where I had been last month. We took a stroll to the beach that evening and the beach is vibrant, vast and full of life, with ice cream vans and the Bus yard to grab a drink or treat. The nxt morning I did yoga on the beach then walked the whole loop of the lake seeing allsorts of wildlife and dog walkers who all greeted Good morning and fitness lovers out for their early morning routine. When I got back to the Lake house the staff made me a coffee even tho they weren’t open yet. Just wonderful."

"Vibrant city, lots to do and see. People are very welcoming. Particularly like the Quayside bars and restaurants. Had a fantastic taster meal at Mowgli on Nelson Street and if you fancy something a bit posher, Victors on the Quayside was very nice. Stadium tour is recommended. Way too much to do for one visit. Will definitely be going again"

"The hop on hop off bus was good value for money as the ticket lasted two days, but when we came out of Crumlin Road gaol the buses had stopped running! More to self, check last bus times. The normal buses are good value, run frequently and on time. Our black cab your was a disappointment, but perhaps just the person we had. The Titanic experience is a must do, we spent about four hours there, very moving. The city centre is very walkable and has lots of lovely shops, places to eat etc. Recommend the Crown Bar"

"Perfect for pre flight ( or post flight) stay for Heathrow. 4 mins to Terminal 3. Lovely welcoming lobby & staff. Delicious meals ( and great service) in the Markeylt Garden Restaurant. Thoroughly recommend. We booked a taxi (£17) for the airport as it was only £4 more than the bus would have been. Bus stops every 30 mins."

Made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom may be a tiny country yet it's crammed with more history, culture and scenery than you can possibly imagine. London, the capital, is the obvious draw. London brims with urban sophistication and attitude. Contemporary trends and innovation is everywhere - chow down at hip eateries, see cutting-edge architecture (the Shard) and widen your horizons with its diverse cultural scene. Go beyond London and you'll find the ancient jostling alongside the modern. In England, time travel to centuries-old cities –Oxford and Bath – and quaint villages, immerse yourself at regal palaces and historic cathedrals. While northern cities such as Liverpool and Manchester blast you with their on-trend vibes and character. And then there's the scenery. Draw breath at the majestic mountains and lochs in Scotland, gaze in awe at nature's art at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, hike the sublime Welsh countryside and coastline. Britain's diversity also lies in its hospitality. Reside in the world's finest, swankiest hotels in the world, be hip at a boutique hotel, nestle in a cozy cottage or B&B, the choice is yours.
