Comfortable bed, huge bathroom, warm abiance in room, with many details to convey the message: 'we care about our guests'. Food is amazing, whatever you order. Upon arrival we were a bit afraid of having traffic on both sides of the building, but at night traffic disappears, we had no problem. Even our child slept undisturbed.

FAQs about hotels in Southampton

Historic Port of Walls

Departure point for Isle of Wight ferries and grand cruise liners including the Queen Mary 2, Southampton is understandably centred around its port. But even if you’re passing through, the city has more than enough to make you want to stay awhile. The Hythe Ferry from the port passes Netley, site of a ruined abbey, and ends at Hythe Pier, home to the world’s oldest pier train.

There is much older history in the city centre where the 15th-century city walls are amongst the most complete in England. Also remaining is the medieval Bargate gatehouse.

Just behind is the Bargate Shopping Centre, while high street stores in the city centre and West Quay are other Southampton shopping choices. As for entertainment, the city is well served by theatres, and Oxford Street has the best bars and restaurants. All are easily reached from the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Southampton available on Booking.com.

There is also a surprising amount of green space in the city and its central parks are Grade II-listed. Slightly further out is Southampton Common, whose Urban Wildlife Centre is worth a visit.

If you’re flying out of Southampton Airport, don’t leave without having visited the Maritime Museum or Archaeology Museum, both detailing the history of this long-established city.

Southampton has a lovely walkable district with great vibes along the harbour. Very friendly, loved the Dark Arts Potion Bar, a fun way to kick off our trip. A great walk around what is left of the Old City Walls with lots of maritime history.

Our stay was perfect. It was just what we needed. Saw a little bit of the city and then hopped on the cruise ship. The area was awesome. Our hosts were very informative and friendly. They even had a hairdryer for me one less thing I had to bring. we enjoyed our visit to the tutor house walk down by the water and had dinner at The pig.and The Cow Heard If we didn’t walk, we took a white cab,

Southampton was a very interesting area.

Southampton was a very interesting area. The surroundings are a great way to spend your time, simply by walking. Many great sites. Forget going to the Titanic Museum. Like most British museums, it was a rip-off. Far better Titanic Museum in Belfast, which is located on the site where the Titanic was built.

This is a very good hotel on the outskirts of Southampton in Boorley. It's large and spacious and that goes for the car park, loads of parking, the restaurant and the room that I had. Impressive. The staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was good, what you'd expect and there are a couple of bars.

Many attractions like parks and museums within walking distance and the hotel enjoys being within close reach of the cruise terminals but far enough away to allow the city to be enjoyed.
