The place is very nice and the room was great. Had great beds and a huge bathroom with a great shower. The place is a pub with rooms so obviously the food and drink were great. The breakfast was also amazing with lovely staff that served with a smile. Thank you to all the staff, your friendly and helpfull attitude is amazing and made my day :) If I return to the area this is my first choice to stay again.

First-class service and very attentive and well-trained staff. The hotel manager makes careful selections. A nice young man at the reception is particularly friendly and accommodating. his name is Ovidiu. He takes care of all guests' worries and has a calm and positive way of inspiring people, so they'll want to return. I hope the hotel manager passes on this praise to the staff. I Already booked 2 weeks in August. Thank you very much.

FAQs about hotels in Southampton

Historic Port of Walls

Departure point for Isle of Wight ferries and grand cruise liners including the Queen Mary 2, Southampton is understandably centred around its port. But even if you’re passing through, the city has more than enough to make you want to stay awhile. The Hythe Ferry from the port passes Netley, site of a ruined abbey, and ends at Hythe Pier, home to the world’s oldest pier train.

There is much older history in the city centre where the 15th-century city walls are amongst the most complete in England. Also remaining is the medieval Bargate gatehouse.

Just behind is the Bargate Shopping Centre, while high street stores in the city centre and West Quay are other Southampton shopping choices. As for entertainment, the city is well served by theatres, and Oxford Street has the best bars and restaurants. All are easily reached from the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Southampton available on Booking.com.

There is also a surprising amount of green space in the city and its central parks are Grade II-listed. Slightly further out is Southampton Common, whose Urban Wildlife Centre is worth a visit.

If you’re flying out of Southampton Airport, don’t leave without having visited the Maritime Museum or Archaeology Museum, both detailing the history of this long-established city.

Dinner at Dukes of Wellington was delicious!

Dinner at Dukes of Wellington was delicious! We spent all day trying to find the "Serene Suite 1-2" that we had reserved for our 1 night stay before we left on our cruise. We didn't see anything else.

We always stay in Southampton for one day prior to the start of our cruise holiday. Nice to walk around with shopping plenty of eateries and nice parks. Good place to look at cruise ships sailing in or out. Portsmouth just a short train ride away. We went up Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth.

An underrated city that hides its light under a bushel.

An underrated city that hides its light under a bushel. Full of little gems that hide behind a fairly anonymous town centre - you have to go looking for them. Beautiful parks are a big highlight; lots of small museums and good restaurants/pubs. The old town walls are bizarrely hidden in loading yards and car parks, but worth seeking out if you like that sort of thing. Surrounding villages like Hamble, Bursledon and Bishops Waltham are worth visiting too, and the proximity to the New Forest, Winchester, the Isle of Wight and the South Downs make the location a big selling point too.

Very busy! I’m guessing a cruise ship had recently arrived…. The area where we were staying was very very noisy and very dirty but that’s just inner city living…there were however lots of great bars and restaurants literally a minutes walk from where we were staying. The new shopping centre was great..clean and accessible.

Most places of interest are within walking distance of hotel. Went to Aviation Museum which was OK. Unfortunately did not get to the Sea City Museum. Did day trips to Isle of Wight & a train to Portsmouth to the Dockyards & Naval Museums.

I was not able to stay at the property as it was double booked! We used the key lock box to access keys and opened the door of the apartment to a Canadian family already staying there from night before. The apartment had been advertised on two platforms by the owner and the calendars of both hadn't synced. My family was left on the street in the baking heat for hours while we tried to access new accomodation in Southampton on a Friday night before 5 cruises departed the next day. There were NO hotel rooms available for our family.

Another solid stay at Moxy Southampton. I’ve stayed in several Moxy hotels over the years and they always seem to get the basics right. Comfortable rooms, decent atmosphere, good staff and none of the soulless feel you get with some chain hotels. Nothing flashy, just a reliable and enjoyable stay exactly as expected. Will definitely return.

We stayed at the Voco Southampton as we were boarding a cruise for our honeymoon the next day. The hotel was aware of this and left a little gift in our room. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. A little hot with the thick duvet but aircon worked well. Breakfast the next day had a good selection.
