Nice area, different vibe to other seaside towns. People were friendly and the weather was gorgeous! I can imagine on a rainy weekend it might look different but good people, good food and good hospitality always win no matter the weather. Fish and Wish at the pier is wonderful, the arcades a few minutes walk from the apartment offer lots of entertainment, the officers all along the front make you feel safe…just an all-round great experience.Guest review byIfeUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A great location for a long weekend.
A great location for a long weekend. Very good shopping centre, great beach front. Loved the walk on the pier and it is great that there is also a pier train for those who have mobility issues. Also, be sure to visit the old town of Leigh-on -Sea for great pubs and sea food restaurants if you have the time which is only a few miles away along the coast. The pier is world famous as being the largest in the world and is it a nice walk (or train ride) to the end. Southend isn't actually "on sea" though. It was friendly place the only complaint would be parking meters no access for actual money and a phone number given only tells you to add an app which I didn’t have a clue so we had to go further into town to pay at a more accessible meter.
