I loved everything, the location by the seafront. The balcony where you can sit and watch the sea, have a meal and a drink enjoying the view. The receptionist was attentive, let me check in early and showed me to the room. I loved the fridge in the room. The fan did the job too. Newly refurbished hotel.

Lovely hotel: the rooms were spacious and clean, we stayed in the Estuary which had a small balcony and side sea view, the room was spacious and clean. The Staff at The Roslin are friendly and attentive and there’s plenty of them; you don’t feel neglected, they are always on hand if you need anything. This is a beautiful hotel looking out to Thames Estuary. We also used the Spa Retreat, Cary’s was lovely! The Customer Service in The Roslin is excellent which isn’t always the case in lots of Hotels these days. Would definitely recommend!

The street is lovely and quiet but really close to station and the seafront. Some lovely little beach cafes and restaurants a stones throw. Room was small but clean and was perfect for an overnight stay. Codes for doors was easy and saved carrying extra keys.

Nice area, different vibe to other seaside towns.

Nice area, different vibe to other seaside towns. People were friendly and the weather was gorgeous! I can imagine on a rainy weekend it might look different but good people, good food and good hospitality always win no matter the weather. Fish and Wish at the pier is wonderful, the arcades a few minutes walk from the apartment offer lots of entertainment, the officers all along the front make you feel safe…just an all-round great experience.

It's a traditional little seaside town, full of charming victorian architecture. The beach is clean. The views of the expanse of sea was lovely at sunset. The people are friendly, whats not to like.

A great location for a long weekend.

A great location for a long weekend. Very good shopping centre, great beach front. Loved the walk on the pier and it is great that there is also a pier train for those who have mobility issues. Also, be sure to visit the old town of Leigh-on -Sea for great pubs and sea food restaurants if you have the time which is only a few miles away along the coast. It is well worth the travel.

The pier is world famous as being the largest in the world and is it a nice walk (or train ride) to the end. Southend isn't actually "on sea" though. It is part of the Thames estuary and the other side is built up with oil terminals and cargo ports which was disappointing.

It was friendly place the only complaint would be parking meters no access for actual money and a phone number given only tells you to add an app which I didn’t have a clue so we had to go further into town to pay at a more accessible meter. A look so coat of £3 to park for an hour near the promenade was expensive so doesn’t encourage visitors to walk along there

Not a great place if you are a dog owner and want a walk on...

Not a great place if you are a dog owner and want a walk on the beach. For some reason dogs are not allowed on the pier either - which was a real disappointment as we'd been looking forward to walking it's length once again. If you just want to walk the promenade then that's quite pleasant, as are the cliff gardens. Plenty of good eating places along the seafront and it's worth checking out a few of the ones that offer more than just the standard "& chips" options. This was a bit of a trip down memory lane for us so we were not too fussed about some of the more touristy options. We thought the high street offered a good variety of shops and the Vistoria and Royal shopping malls looked interesting although we did not go in (no dogs) so missed out on those.

I was at the hotel for the horror on sea film festival and the hotel did a great job at hosting and accommodating the festival and its guests. The staff were great lovely people who went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed. The location was great and the bar had great food.

Location overlooking seafront, free parking within quarter of a mile max, overnight much closer and hour parking, with luck, during day. Handy for Southend Central and Victoria stations. Friendly staff. Outside terrace great for warm weather. Good breakfast.

The location is great, lovely views, quite (for Southend area at least). Close to good restaurants. This hotel could be the best in Southend with some investment. Very under capacity especially as it’s nearly summer.
