We had room/suite 401 and it spans the depth of the top floor. Very spacious and extremely quiet - you do not hear other guests. Large balcony and great view.

Easy reach of the seafront by walking. WestCliff on railway station 5 minutes away and is a direct line to London Southend and Leigh on sea. The hotel is located on a quiet side residential street. The rooms are clean,,with a television and a kettle to make hot drinks. There was street parking right outside the property. The staff were very helpful completing my online check in and getting codes for access to the hotel and room.

The pier is world famous as being the largest in the world and is it a nice walk (or train ride) to the end. Southend isn't actually "on sea" though. It is part of the Thames estuary and the other side is built up with oil terminals and cargo ports which was disappointing.

Not a great place if you are a dog owner and want a walk on the beach. For some reason dogs are not allowed on the pier either - which was a real disappointment as we'd been looking forward to walking it's length once again. If you just want to walk the promenade then that's quite pleasant, as are the cliff gardens. Plenty of good eating places along the seafront and it's worth checking out a few of the ones that offer more than just the standard "& chips" options. This was a bit of a trip down memory lane for us so we were not too fussed about some of the more touristy options. We thought the high street offered a good variety of shops and the Vistoria and Royal shopping malls looked interesting although we did not go in (no dogs) so missed out on those.

I grew up in Westcliff-on-sea and came to visit old friends plus the cemetary where my parents are laid to rest. I now live in Somerset, so it was good to reminisce with memories and have contact with my old friends. So I know most of the area and although the high street looks a little run down-many other parts and parks are still beautiful and the sea air and sea front are still a wonderful retreat and a good place to visit for a break.

We was an all male party , come down to Southend to see The Feelgood Band at the Plough west cliff. We visited a few pubs , where we found people to be friendly. Taxi service was excellent. We visited the sea front and found it fun , clean and tidy. Chinnerys and the Cricketers were also excellent watering holes lol

This is a Weatherspoons hotel so obviously the fact it's above a pub is a bonus. 😃 The location is brilliant, couldn't be more central. 10 minutes walk from the seafront, great if you want to visit London town too as the Southend Central train station is right outside. Oat milk in the room is great! Shortbread biscuits ❤️ and hot chocolate a great addition. Lovely bathroom.

Very professional staff. Very friendly.. easy check in and very helpful with parking . great location. Beautiful view of the sea from our room. Buffet breakfast exceptional. Great size room we stayed in one of the junior suites .spa bath was small but divine. Couldn't fault the hotel and it's amenities. Ten minutes from Southend pier. Was given a map, very useful.

Debbi and her team were very friendly, they were able to make an exception for early check in as we had a wedding reception to attend. Very clean, comfortable accommodation. Would happily recommend if you're staying in Southend on Sea, near sea and high street.

Loved this hotel, one of the nicest I’ve stayed in. Restaurant was amazing and cocktails were incredible. Haven’t got a bad word to say. Close to the theatre and also the seafront.
