Train station close to walk we couldn't disabilities. Nice place Hotel amazing bridge across river amazing it was clean in and around place. Only drawback is the sea far far far far far comes in at night. Sand marshy sinky but bird life awesome further down by Pier I believe you can go on the beach itself sea far though in distance. Can take a boat trip or hire littke swan boats has rides . Bit old some places but nice place

We visited for air show and talking to a gentleman he recommended the fireworks championship so we booked again at dukes folly hotel as location ideal Southport has a lot to offer there’s always something going on

Fantastic shopping location , wonderful selection of eateries, cafes restaurants and takeaways . Day out to The Botanical Gardens is greatly enjoyable. Museum very close to hotel. As both disabled great that Southport is very level.

Southport still had the ideal seaside location feel with...
Southport still had the ideal seaside location feel with plenty to do. We loved the botanical gardens in Churchtown it remains a great reminder of when my parent's used to take me 60 years ago. Many great places to eat covering all tastes. Found a lovely old pub called the Windmill well worth a visit. Southport will be better still when the pier is opened again. It is a pity the council do not fight the grass growing on the beach as that was the main draw when I was a child with the donkeys now long gone.

Surprisingly good. Some of the buildings are magnificent. Well appointed shopping with loads of eating places and places to walk. Ate at Italian Sapori......very good!
Good bus services and train station very close to digs. Just left car parked and used local transport.

Southport is a bustling and vibrant seaside town.
Southport is a bustling and vibrant seaside town. It has a good mix of shops - high street, touristy and some independent shops and cafes. There are a lot of decent pubs and I visited several. There is the Auld Dubliner on Lord Street, The Tap and Bottles in the Cambridge Arcade, the Lakeside Inn on the Promenade, and Southport Market to name but a few. Southport Market is located in the old indoor market with a very well stocked Central bar and independent food outlets set out around it (we tried Greek and Korean food). There is lots to see and do in Southport itself and it is very easy to get around on foot or by public transport if you want to venture further afield. I jumped 2 stops on the train to Burscough and had a lovely meal in the Hop Vine. There is plenty to do for kids as well with amusements, carousels and a theme park. The only drawback is that the Pier is still currently being renovated and cannot be accessed but when eventually re-opened will be well worth a visit.

Amazing hotel! Would highly recommend staying here if in Southport. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic, so clean and comfortable with quality bedding, pillows and toiletries. The continental breakfast was incredible-the best breakfast we've had after several weeks of staying in hotels - cereal, fruit, juice, tea/coffee and an amazing breakfast basket of warm scrolls, croissants, muffins, cheese, salami and toast. Loved this hotel! And the location is great.

Lovely friendly hotel. Price was excellent. Room was great. Total quietness which we like. We visit Southport every few months so shall definitely not stay anywhere else.

Southport road from Ormskirk closed. Phoned hotel Jane on reception gave us great directions . Restaurant food excellent and staff very attentive
