Welcome at reception, very nicely decorated throughout, room spotlessly clean, bed super comfy, hospitality tray in bedroom excellent quality and choices & fresh milk in the fridge. Just a shame I was there on my own and for only 1 night.

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel and the ultra friendly staff especially isabelle and fabio. The whole team gave us a nice warm welcome and the foods pretty good too. Honestly although we are locals we like something different from the norm and this will now be our new go to place for a nice little break

The staff were exceptionally well traiined, respectful and helpful in all matters related to our stay. The shuttle service was A1. Our self catering cottage was imacculate and we were upgraded at no extra charge because of a dishwasher leak, prior to our arrival. The food service in the restaurant was satisfactory, though helpings for seniors were too large.

Being a relatively new build the Hotel was in excellant condition. It was in a prime location, steps away from the inner harbour and sea front. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food, especially the breakfast, was excellent. It was nice to have a bar to have a drink anytime and food was available until 9pm. We went by train, Torquay station was around a mile away, a wonderful walk along the sea front and past the harbour. Very reasonably priced especially considering that the breakfast was included.

Harborside is very nice, with some nice shops, parks, and restaurants. The town itself is somewhat dilapidated with empty shops and pubs. The local council should be ashamed of how the town has been left to decay in what should be a very affluent area. However I would still recommend.

The beach was clean with beautiful views. Plenty to see and do in nearby towns too. A visit to the Princess Theatre is highly recommended with a meal. Theatre staff were attentive and friendly. For getting around Torquay, walking is great if possible. If you need transport use local taxis. Babbacombe is a must with the model village and cliff railway to Oddicombe beach.

Personally I found Torquay to be yet another one of those touristy places that's living in the past and stuck in the 1980's. I thought it looked worn out, dirty and grimy, for me there was very little of interest in the actual town itself, because it's living on the legend of former years rather than offering something for the here and now. We did visit out of season, so I can imagine it packed in season. The shopping was uninteresting as it's just your usual high street branded stores with a smattering of expensive so called Art galleries selling expensive tack & charity shops. We also thought the cafes & restaurants were expensive, why is Seafood always so expensive on the coast? I did like how the Council had created the footpaths and seating areas, but much of this was spoilt with large bins and flower troughs covered with posters asking you not to drop litter, which really spoilt the scenic image of the place. Places like this suffer from those owning businesses raking it in but reluctant to invest and those who do have the ideas but no money to invest. I was surprised given how many really expensive boats there were moored in the harbour, that there weren't more upmarket shops & venues catering for this money. For me Torquay itself was a bit of a disappointment and there are much nicer places to visit in the locale instead!

Torquay has many advantages and, if the weather is good, you could think you were on the Riviera. There is a large harbour, a good beach many palms trees and plenty of places to eat. In the summer boats take you across the bay. And, of course, it was the birthplace of Agatha Christie. Surrounding Torquay are many other places of interest… Brixham, Totnes, Dartmouth, Dartmoor etc are all easily reached by car or public transport.

Unfortunately we had the worst weather for 3 days, with the sea crashing against the beach and over onto the road to the town which was closed a couple of times. It was in the middle of January and very spectacular and didn’t dampen our enjoyment, took lots of pictures.

We spent 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast choices were good and the location was good. Its out of Torquay centre in beautiful Meadfoot cove. The view in the morning is amazing. We walked down into the town centre, which took 15/20 mins down the road. We also went in via the coast path, which was more challenging but the views were beautiful. Parking was easy out the front of the hotel and we never had an issue. We would definitely stay there again

We visited for two nights and had the loveliest time. Steven and his wife are beyond kind and welcoming made it feel much more personal than a big anonymous hotel chain would. Felt like a really authentic English B&B experience! House itself is newly renovated and feels fresh. Very clean and excellent breakfast served, accommodating dietary needs. Location also fab with town a five minute dander down the hills. Would definitely stay here again when in Torquay.
