Staff were all lovely, accommodating and helpful. Great room, breakfast, massage, sauna, steam room and pool which we enjoyed. Location and parking on site was most important so we were happy we got this and the great service. Wanted to stay longer and would love to come back. Janice and Rod NZ

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel and the ultra friendly staff especially isabelle and fabio. The whole team gave us a nice warm welcome and the foods pretty good too. Honestly although we are locals we like something different from the norm and this will now be our new go to place for a nice little break

Being a relatively new build the Hotel was in excellant condition. It was in a prime location, steps away from the inner harbour and sea front. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food, especially the breakfast, was excellent. It was nice to have a bar to have a drink anytime and food was available until 9pm. We went by train, Torquay station was around a mile away, a wonderful walk along the sea front and past the harbour. Very reasonably priced especially considering that the breakfast was included.

Personally I found Torquay to be yet another one of those touristy places that's living in the past and stuck in the 1980's. I thought it looked worn out, dirty and grimy, for me there was very little of interest in the actual town itself, because it's living on the legend of former years rather than offering something for the here and now. We did visit out of season, so I can imagine it packed in season. The shopping was uninteresting as it's just your usual high street branded stores with a smattering of expensive so called Art galleries selling expensive tack & charity shops. We also thought the cafes & restaurants were expensive, why is Seafood always so expensive on the coast? I did like how the Council had created the footpaths and seating areas, but much of this was spoilt with large bins and flower troughs covered with posters asking you not to drop litter, which really spoilt the scenic image of the place. Places like this suffer from those owning businesses raking it in but reluctant to invest and those who do have the ideas but no money to invest. I was surprised given how many really expensive boats there were moored in the harbour, that there weren't more upmarket shops & venues catering for this money. For me Torquay itself was a bit of a disappointment and there are much nicer places to visit in the locale instead!

Torquay has many advantages and, if the weather is good, you could think you were on the Riviera. There is a large harbour, a good beach many palms trees and plenty of places to eat. In the summer boats take you across the bay. And, of course, it was the birthplace of Agatha Christie. Surrounding Torquay are many other places of interest… Brixham, Totnes, Dartmouth, Dartmoor etc are all easily reached by car or public transport.

Unfortunately we had the worst weather for 3 days, with the sea crashing against the beach and over onto the road to the town which was closed a couple of times. It was in the middle of January and very spectacular and didn’t dampen our enjoyment, took lots of pictures.

The harbour was lovely, and Torre Abbey Sands on the other side great. There is a very good selection of places to eat - we went to Amici Italian food and it was superb. The piano bar below the hotel was excellent - great music and cocktails.

The beach and parade is nice.

The beach and parade is nice. At night the ever changing colourful chain of lights along the whole length of bay is mesmerising and adds to flair. Like many towns some shops are closed and makes area look desolated. Lots of restaurants near beach. Good bus connections. Torre Abbey museum is worth a visit. Lots of spas in hotels to choose from.

Excellent resort with lots of good food places to eat and a nice location along with good entertainment options. Easy rail links and good accessibility by road as an alternative. Many beaches within easy reach and Dartmoor a short trip away.

Looks well maintained and freshly decorated with modern facilities. We needed a walk in shower for my husband who has mobility difficulties. The hotel was very helpful and provided a shower stool and non-slip mat as well. It has a lovely position near the centre of Torquay, so very handy for local restaurants, the beach and local attractions. Friendly staff who are keen to help at all times. The food in the hotel was top notch and we loved the fresh milk provided in our room.

We visited for two nights and had the loveliest time. Steven and his wife are beyond kind and welcoming made it feel much more personal than a big anonymous hotel chain would. Felt like a really authentic English B&B experience! House itself is newly renovated and feels fresh. Very clean and excellent breakfast served, accommodating dietary needs. Location also fab with town a five minute dander down the hills. Would definitely stay here again when in Torquay.
