We absolutely loved our stay. The sea view room, the decor, staff and restaurant. For us the location was perfect as we like to walk and thexwalk into the centre was the exercisexwe needed when on a roadtrip. Bonus..on site undercover parking.

Luke and Becca have thought of absolutely everything! Beautiful decor in a nautical style, a clean, fresh and stunning property. Such a welcoming and friendly couple who were always on hand to help if needed. The lounge area had a selection of glasses, ice, bottle opener and much more to enjoy a drink from the local shop and the dining area had a selection of plates and cutlery so you can bring your own food into eat. On the Landing there are spare towels , milk, biscuits and a ‘forgotten box’ for those things that you may have forgotten to pack. brilliant idea . Honestly can not fault the place. A absolute gem of a find.

The staff were exceptionally well traiined, respectful and helpful in all matters related to our stay. The shuttle service was A1. Our self catering cottage was imacculate and we were upgraded at no extra charge because of a dishwasher leak, prior to our arrival. The food service in the restaurant was satisfactory, though helpings for seniors were too large.

Torquay and its surroundings are beautiful.

Torquay and its surroundings are beautiful. There are good walks in the area and a decent bus service to Brixham and Paignton. There is also the train with various destinations available. There are eateries to suit all tastes. Seafood is obviously prominent. It is a hilly town and may not suit those who have mobility problems.

We visit torquay on a fairly regular basis just chill out for a weekend. Torquay itself has some fairly interesting bars and eateries ( several with live music ) plus its a good stepping off point to visit nearby locations. On the flip side the main town is suffering much the same as elsewhere with shop closures and looking a tad run down. Still a good place to chill for a weekend.

Torquay is a good location for this part of Devon.

Torquay is a good location for this part of Devon. Torbay the larger area of Torquay offers different areas, beaches and places of interest with variety. Good for walkers, dogs etc. Plenty of hotels. Exeter a cathedral / university about 40 mins away. Plenty of places by coast not too far away. Lots of hotels. Some bars and restaurants around. Main streets away from the bay can look a little faded with usual bargain shops and Exeter of course would offer a far better shopping choice. But Torbay is a wide area for walks and popular with seniors. Torquay has no university.

I have read about Torquay, and it clearly has issues.

I have read about Torquay, and it clearly has issues. There are parts of the town that need redeveloping, but this is an issue for lots of town centres. Internet shopping has killed most normal shops. So Torquay ends up having to cater for the tourist trade, and out of season the town is dead. The harbour area is improving, but the old Debenhams site needs something doing to it. There are lots of bars and eateries around the harbour.

Scenery great. Plenty to do. Some things a bit overpriced. Model village far to much for a family to pay. Annual ticket should be available. Return visit should not be restricted to seven days. Good to have some free roadside parking and handy charging places for electric vehicles.

Harborside is very nice, with some nice shops, parks, and restaurants. The town itself is somewhat dilapidated with empty shops and pubs. The local council should be ashamed of how the town has been left to decay in what should be a very affluent area. However I would still recommend.

With out doubt the best views from our room across Torquay, The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best I have ever slept on. The shower was extremely powerful and ideal for a back massage!!! The value for money was very pleasing and my wife and I will definitely be going back, Heidi was also extremely helpful when booking.com messed the reservation up. Brilliant Hotel *****

Our hosts Steve and Jan were amazing. Supplied us with a parking permit for outside. They were very informative about the area and recommended different venues. They both were a lovely couple. If and when we return to Torquay we will definitely be staying here again. Hotel was beautifully clean as was the bedroom. Breakfast was outstanding plenty of selection if required. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.
