I loved the cleanliness of the hotel and the ultra friendly staff especially isabelle and fabio. The whole team gave us a nice warm welcome and the foods pretty good too. Honestly although we are locals we like something different from the norm and this will now be our new go to place for a nice little break

The hotel was well situated, the room was nice, clean and the hotel in itself had a lovely homey feeling. The owners did all they could to make sure that we had a great time. Good recommendations for food, places to visit and so on, outstanding help in every situation, and the family is just extrodinary nice. Cannot recommend staying here enough.

Babbacombe Downs are well maintained by Torbay Council.

Babbacombe Downs are well maintained by Torbay Council. Torquay seems to have improved recently. The area by the harbour has been renovated. Unfortunately due to the ongoing problems with Paignton town centre being closed the traffic was rather a nightmare and it took about an hour to get to Dartington on Friday night instead of half an hour as usual. Until the traffic problems are sorted it will impact the time journeys take to other places around…..

Torquay and Paignton were both huge disappointments.

Torquay and Paignton were both huge disappointments. Gone are the days when this riviera was the jewel of the South coast with its prestigious hotels and restaurants. Every second shop appears to be closed. The towns are choked with traffic. Goodness knows what it is like in high season. Beggars on the pavements asking for small change. At time we did not feel safe. Cannot recommend to anyone.

We liked how easy it was to get there and get around by public transport. Loved the Torre Gardens. Thought the National Gallery Artworks were a brilliant idea. Ran out of time to do the Agatha Christie Mile although we did see quite a few of the plaques in various places. We ate in three local restaurants, which we thought were reasonably priced. We stumbled on the main shopping centre by accident on our last night there when we took an alternative route back to our B&B Maybe a few more public maps of the town wouldn't go amiss. I can't think of anything we would avoid next time.

Torquay harbour is vibrant, and plenty of good restaurants to choose from. There are several bars overlooking the harbour, all offering a variety of food, and cocktails. The ferry service offers regular sailings to the surrounding harbours (Paignton and Brixham) On the Friday we were treated to the Paignton air show, while sitting in a bar overlooking the harbour watching red arrows, how good is that?

I've been to Torquay a few times now, only short breaks though, there's plenty to see, lovely walks, great eateries, numerous places to stay. Must see's 1. Cockington, if you're feeling lazy you can catch a taxi and walk back, pop into to Weavers Cottage tea garden for your devonshire tea while you're there and don't forget to check out the Arts and Crafts centre. 2. The steam railway is great fun and a good day out 3. make sure you take a trip on the Porpoise Princess to see some seals (if your lucky) which we were. 4. Have a look at Torre Abbey it's close and worth a visit, closed on Mondays I think. 5. A nice place for a meal is Pier Point Restaurant & Bar, I'm sure there's plenty more things that I haven't mentioned

Low dose of vape shops and dodgy barbers, not over run by plastic buckets emporiums, or litter. Worth the drive and a week in the UK type of place, particularly if you wander off a little, not far, and use as a base to visit neighbouring towns. Suitable for all holiday ages.

We're quickly becoming regulars to this charming little hotel, always clean and welcoming with amazing communication from the owners. It's a lovely central location, nice and close to the beach, with lots of shops and takeaways nearby, and great dog walking parks as well. I'm sure we'll continue to use the hotel as one of the best dog friendly stays in Torquay.
