There is nothing to like about this property. It is a slum

Although the room was small, it did accommodate 3 single beds for the three of us traveling. It was nice to have a walk-in shower. Great view of the sea and sunset from the dining room. Ability to choose a cooked breakfast (vs buffet) was also a welcome benefit.

Scotts was a lovely restaurant.

I was born and brought up in Troon so I am biased. Troon is a lovely seaside town full of lovely freindly people. The town has a decent selection of shops. I found the town very quiet compared to how it was when I grew up.

Lovely wee coastal town with good eateries for every pocket...
Lovely wee coastal town with good eateries for every pocket and nice wee independent shops to explore. Swimming pool, library, pretty town hall and two scenic beaches. Troon is within easy reach of other Ayrshire seasde towns like Prestwick and Ayr. Kilmarnock is also within reach and Glasgow is an easy drive up the M77. However there is a train station too and if you enjoy golf you'll be spoilt Parking in the town is free and plentiful.
Not a review of Troon per se but to holiday letters in general - these key boxes are murder on arthritic fingers - I have a splt fingernail with underlying blood blister to prove it. Ouch!
Also note to Booking.com - please don't put a union flag beside my name in the reviews!

The food was imaginative, delicious and the chef met every one of my companion’s food allergies!
The staff was very friendly and very professional. The room was lovely! There was no mold which was another allergy. Car park was on the property and the beach was across the street. It was exceptional!

My husband, Colin and I, love Troon.
My husband, Colin and I, love Troon. We live in Glasgow and it only takes about 40 minutes to get there, so we go as often as we can. There are excellent charity shops and a great travel agency (Stewart Travel) where we book all our holidays. We love the beach and the ice cream kiosk and on the first of every month there is an indoor car boot sale in the town hall. My husband loves the Pavillion chip shop and he also stays in Troon each winter for Winterstorm Rock Festival. I'm afraid I can't recommend the 3 Idiots Restaurant, as the food is overpriced and not very nice, and the service is dreadful. Avoid this place like the plague and you'll have a great time in Troon!

Staff were very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Building is old but well modernised and maintained, especially the bar and restaurant area. Good to have the choice of bar and restaurant menus, with bar prices comparable to town centre pubs at home. Restaurant food was lovely for a birthday treat. Being right next to the 18th fairway at Royal Troon was cool even when not playing. Liked the photos along the corridors of famous players standing on the same hotel steps.
Nice classic hotel decor in our room, very clean and tidy.
Immediately felt comfortable and safe, great parking, nice choice of sitting areas, lounge , bar, beer garden with guest controlled heaters, reception area too. Staff friendly and helpful, spacious room with extra single bed, modern and clean. Great location for access to town yet open vistas to front and rear. Easy access to beach. If fortunate with weather, a very relaxed hotel to spend time outdoors. If not , then still areas within hotel to relax. Very nice golf / whisky memorabilia and pictures throughout.
Excellent stay again and hotel been refurbished since we were last there and its looking lovely. Our room was so spacious as was the ensuite and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fine could have been more choice at the continental area e.g. fruit but sufficient. We ate in hotel one of the nights and food was fab we should have ate there both nights we stayed!!
Coorie Doon Aparthotel is not open, the restaurant area is a shell and still has the planning application in the window for change of use. The alternative accommodation was very nice but lucky for us it was available. Troon was nice with lots of places to eat and drink. An open Coorie Doon might add to the town.
A lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were lovely, comfy and big. Breakfast was amazing, also a choice from the menu or buffet. We will definitely be back.
