Set in West Mersea in the Essex region, The Nook offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Very clean. Enjoyed having a mini fridge, along with tea, coffee and milk kindly provided. We liked that there was also crockery. The bed was really comfy with great quality linen. We also appreciated the luxury toiletries which made it feel special. The location was great for us and we welcomed the advice before we came re: taxi to the restaurant and recommendations for where to eat in the morning -the art cafe was a huge hit.

Offering quiet street views, The Blackwater Suite is an accommodation situated in West Mersea, 37 km from Freeport Braintree and 44 km from Hedingham Castle.

The location was excellent with no problems parking and close to the beach and lots of nice walks. Bed was fairly comfortable. A few utensils and crockery had been left to make tea and breakfast but a couple of cereal bowls would have been useful.

It was a great place to visit, we had two very good meals on the island: Titash (Indian restaurant) and Seafood at Dawn which had great fresh local fish, including Mersea (Colchester oysters). We visited the church in the village, the beach and Cudmore Grove County Park which had many options for different length walks, It was also very easy journey to Colchester, where there is lots to do around there.

Nice little area - better weather would have meant a decent walk-around would have been very enjoyable. Nice charity shop with excellent coffee & cake (cafe) area. Very good options for dining in the area.

It was lovely to stay in West mersey, very different from our usual East Mersey trips, great to have a parking space so close to the water front and not having to worry about overstating our parking time.Very close to the company shed restaurant and the water front pizza restaurant, lovely views across the estuary,,not directly from the property.

It was our 8th time in West Mersea - we think this makes it very obvious that we are very happy to stay there. We love the long beaches, the numerous walks on the island and the different characters of the various sections of the town. We prefer the peace in autumn with fewer people than in high season. Throughout the years the quality of the restaurants has improved, particularly if you are fond of seafood.

There was plenty going for older visitors, especially if you are partial to seafood. The place has a peaceful, easy going aura, but I feel that children and teenagers might find it rather boring. The whole are was well maintained, clean an litter free, which was impressive.

We enjoyed the general ambience, boats, the fish restaurant and kiosks, the crabbing on the pier, the salt marshes, and the beach and coastal walk on East Mersea. The village of West Mersea is easy to walk around. I'm interested in the local history and loved the local museum - very welcoming and well informed volunteers. The only downside is that lots of places close Monday and Tuesday.
