Probably one of the best overnight stays we had on our whole tour!! The owners don’t talk English, but we still spent a lot of our time with them and you learn to communicate without talking!
The cooking is also very nice, Ia is very talented and is making very good (and a lot) of food! They make their own Sulguni, which was beyond tasty! Be aware of the wine and Cha-Cha, very delicious!
You will have a dreamful view if you sit in front of the house over Ushguli.
They even organized a transportation back to Mestia for us, for a very fair price!
Thank you so much for this very special and Georgian experience and for the warm welcome you are giving your Guests!

Very friendly and helpful owners. The only minor thing is that they want to kill you with the amount of delicious food 😁
Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location.
Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location. Quite simply a dream. It deserves time spent here. More than a day trip. You can hike. You can sit and soak up the unforgettable views. Wandering through Ushguli is like stepping back in time. We stayed for two nights and it was quite simply one of the top highlights of our travels to date. Our mistake: not staying longer.
Ivasu khari, Ushguli! ❤️ ("Thank you, Ushguli" in Svan)

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend. But it is cheaper to get there then to return from it to Mestia.
You can go hiking to Shkhara glacier by foot or take a horse for half a way.

Ushguli an amazing place. I travelled from Tbilisi by car.
Ushguli an amazing place. I travelled from Tbilisi by car. The roads are not the best and you will need a 4WD car, but you will be rewarded with amazing views. untouched landscape and unforgettable views. When in Ushguli you will feel like someone sent you back to another century and this is what gives this village a distinctive charm. In the village itself you do not need a car, everything is walking distance and make sure you do walk around and dive into the village life. When you visit Ushguli even in Summer be aware that it can get a little chilly in the evening outdoors.

The landscape is amazing, you can have an easy hike to the glacier, rent a horse or hire a 4x4 car to take you to the glacier. There are hikes for every level, you can be very unfit and you will still enjoy it. If you are a hiker than for sure you are in heaven.
Try the cinema, it is a very authentic experience.

This was absolutely the best part of Georgia for my husband and I. The combination of medieval towers, spectacular mountain scenery, and getting to see everyday farm life in the village was such a unique experience. The hike to the nearby Shkhara glacier is also fabulous. I would love to come back here someday.

Incredibly difficult place to get to but worth the effort.
Incredibly difficult place to get to but worth the effort. High in the Svaneti mountains, close to the glaciers, this is a trekker's paradise. Kids riding their ponies through the streets at break-neck speed, shooing pigs from the garden, cows being milked in the street, this place has it all. And the scenery is out of this world
