It felt like a comfortable and safe peaceful home area environment! The owners were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay! The housekeeper was also very friendly and her work ethics are amazing! I also liked the fact that I could look out the bedroom window or lay down in bed and see the northern lights!

a small city with lots to see and do. self-guided tours are easy to follow. there are many places in town to see, eg a great museum. quite a good selection of guided tours available for purchase. the water taxi trip into the fjord and up to the glacier face was excellent - I still can't get over the "Black" ice!

Nuuk was a compact city and very accessible and pedestrian friendly. The city is also in a very scenically beautiful location, surrounded by beautiful fjords and accessible peaks for climbing. The people are friendly and the climate in early August was extremely pleasant when the sun was shining. It was shorts and t-shirt weather generally, though once the afternoon shadows came, there was the need for a light jacket or jumper. There are some excellent museums in Nuuk and a range of interesting and unique Inuit memorabilia that can be purchased to remember your stay. Moreover, there are a number of restaurants that cater for a palate that may wish to try some local or traditional foods such as musk ox and whale. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

Some good restaurants, pubs and museums. easy to get to and from airport by bus or taxi (or even walking if you're up for it and have light luggage!--about 5 km) nice scenery around town. Note: there are no roads leading out of this city. It's boat or plane only!! If you venture further afield in Greenland, note that domestic flights can be cancelled multiple times (my flight was cancelled two days in a row), so give yourself many days on either side of any critical transport bookings (i.e. you don't want to miss your international flight!)

Beautiful place, easy access to look around on a tour boat, food was good, people were friendly. Airport was very slow to check people in and get bags checked. Overall, an excellent experiance with just one full day and 2 nights.

I travel a lot, but this was the first time I travelled to a play where the only thing to do was mingle with the people. Nuuk is a really small city and I was able to go around the city on the bus. By riding the bus, I got to see a lot of the suburbs of Nuuk and it was easy to move around. What I was surprised that was the Nuuk Museum, not the cultural center, but the museum down by the water. There was a lot of history packed into that tiny building. It's a must see if you're headed there.

We visited Nuuk for 2 days following a trip to Ilulissat.

We visited Nuuk for 2 days following a trip to Ilulissat. We loved the Colonial district. Had a great meal at The Unicorn, a Sunday morning dip with a regular group that meet at 9.30am every Sunday apparently, a couple of really interesting museum visits and a board walk as well as lots of leisurely strolls in between. You’ll find that Nuuk (Greenland in general) is very expensive but I would highly recommend Nuuk as a must see location as part of a more extensive trip to Ilulissat for example. For our June trip, weather was amazing. No coats required!! But do always check in advance.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Aurora. The location is nice and much closer to the center than some reviews suggest! Only aprox 15 minute walk to the city center (restaurants, shops) and the harbor for boat tours. The staff were friendly and helpful (also before the arrival, smooth communication). My room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly throughout my stay.

Good option for a self catering stay in Nuuk. Close to both the ferry port and town centre. Super handy to have a washing machine and dryer. Slept really well in the comfortable beds.
