Exceptional comfort and design beyond expectations for a hostel stay. The bed was extremely comfortable with two good pillows and a well sized comforter. Everything was very clean, sleek, and modern, and the overall ambiance felt cozy and relaxing. The shared facilities were excellent — the rooftop was perfect for sunset views, and the library, lounge, and kitchen were all beautifully maintained and very functional.

This was the final hotel we stayed in on our Greek holiday. When we arrived we were bowled over by the place - very trendy and high tech and with super-friendly and attentive staff. The rooms were compact but exceptionally well designed and very very modern, so didnt feel small at all (we had 2-bed and a 3-bed rooms). Rooftop bar and pool was excellent with stunning views of Athens and the Acropolis. Breakfast was excellent - loads of options, and more than enough choice for everyone. Location was great - 5-10 minutes walk to central shipping area.

FAQs about hotels in Athens

Dynamic City With 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history while embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you'll find tavernas serving tantalizing souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds of the city center.

The changing of the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here, Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The upscale districts Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens has some of the finest museums in the world, such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Athens is a very crowded city with very narrow streets and cobblestone. Elderly, or people with mobility issues should be aware they may have a difficult time walking around the city and Acropolis area. (be smart and leave the sandals, and wear comfortable walking shoes!) I was disappointed to see all the graffiti on buildings and city walls (I guess it is common everywhere) but it really spoiled the ancient city of Athens. Overall, we enjoyed our stay near the Acropolis; we found many nice restaurants, shops and beautiful old buildings.

Athens is a city that offers something for everyone.

Athens is a city that offers something for everyone. It is a city that never sleeps, full of historical sights, has a lot of different content, good food, a great riviera. The port of Piraeus offers connections to many islands, so excursions can be easily arranged. The city is not perfect, it has some flaws like any other city, but you should give it a chance and indulge in its charms and beauties.

Athens is a loud, chaotic city.

Athens is a loud, chaotic city. The tourist areas are extremely touristy, main streets in Plaka and Monastiraki are just a collection of souvenir shops. If you step outside those areas, Athens hits you like a train: extremely heavy car traffic, mopeds all over the place, you have to be very careful not to get run over. Edem Beach is also loud and full of screaming people and merchants trying to sell you their wares. But the water is excellent there, shallow and crystal clear. Easy to reach by Tram 6 from Syntagma. That said, if you have an interest in ancient cultures, artifacts and ruins, you cannot skip Athens. The ancient Agora is nice and quiet and you walk in the footsteps of Plato and -Socrates. And compared to other big cities, Athens can be quite cheap, even if you do fall for the unavoidable tourist traps. Hospitality is very friendly and the food is simple yet amazing.

The day after arrival, we did an e-bike tour including a tour of the Acropolis - a great way to get orientated and learn much about the area. We later did a hop on hop off bus tour which was enjoyable; and many miles walking and exploring. Athens is a busy city, but always comfortable when out and about.

I don't even know where to start. We have been all around Greece in great hotels and accommodation but never, never is such a welcoming place as this one. Starting from freshly smelling towels to a level of cleanness i have not seen in a 5 star hotel. Kitchen is fully equipped, outstanding bathroom, and although apartment is not huge it still benefits of 2 air conditioning units which is just a joy. Balcony offers a million star view while drinking a coffe or a glass of wine. If you get close to that location look no further BOOK IT.

Gorgeous hotel in the Plaka district of Athens. Steps away from a huge choice of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Rey conveniently located to the metro from the airport, we arrived into Syntagma square and had an easy walk ( 5 or 6 minutes) to the hotel. Our room was beautiful, and had a fab view of the Acropolis. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace had an even better view and the service, setting and food was one of the best breakfasts I’ve eaten in a hotel. Highly recommend the Electra Palace if you are staying in Athens.

Such a creative hotel, unlike anything we’ve seen before in Greece! The building itself is gorgeous, with beautiful architecture and thoughtful details. There’s a coffee shop right next to the lobby with fun, creative swag. The room had an industrial vibe and was very quiet. The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful with everything we needed. We travel to Athens often, and we’ll definitely be back!
