Location and view from our balcony were both excellent. Taverna below did wonderful seafood. Day trip to Pserimos was well worth it, less than 10 Euros each.

A beautiful, perfect little apartment, so well maintained it seemed brand new, set back from the main roads in a quiet neighbourhood. Views of neighbouring trees and the mountain. Five-minute walk to the harbour! Very welcoming host.

Tiny but perfectly formed apartment in Pothia Harbour. The apartment was clean and carefully thought out in terms of fitting in everything you could need. The bed was comfortable. Noise from the street was quite loud until around 9.30pm but after that despite being located right on the road it wasn't a problem. We just stayed for 1 night and it was great but I probably wouldn't recommend for a long period because of its size!

Kalymnos is truly a gem—peaceful, authentic, and full of character. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. One unforgettable place was Agios Savvas, a beautiful, soul-soothing church overlooking the entire island. A must-visit for peace, reflection, and panoramic views.
Getting around was easy with Limani Auto Rental, a great family-owned business. Quick and smooth check-in and check-out—highly recommended if you want to explore the island freely.
We absolutely loved Love Café, a cozy little spot by the harbor run by a giagia and papou. It's a true hole-in-the-wall with incredible coffee, delicious club sandwiches, and the sweetest owners. It quickly became our go-to.
For food, Manias Seafood is a must-try—especially the octopus fritters and fresh tuna salad. Kalymnos has many hidden gems like these.
Just note: the island is built on levels, with lots of stairs and hilly paths. It’s part of its charm, but good to be prepared.
Kalymnos left a deep impression—beautiful sights, kind people, and an authentic Greek island experience. Can’t wait to return!

Some people were welcoming.
Some people were welcoming. I was charged double the fee when I first arrived by a taxi cab driver. The fees varied every time I took a taxi even if my final destination was the same each time. They make up their own rates.

I enjoy island hopping around Greece, and Kalymnos is quite convenient in terms of location, because you can visit here while travelling around the islands between Kos and Chios. You can also get to Kalymnos on a day trip from Kos.
However, Kalymnos port town is not the best place to visit. It is noisy with traffic, almost all the food on offer at the harbour front consists of chips and dodgy burgers, and even the seafood and Greek restaurants are terrible. My partner and I have never succeeded in both having a pleasant meal at the same sitting. It just doesn't feel like authentic Greece to me.
I've been to Kalymnos twice and will not go again. I believe some of the seaside towns to the north of the island are nice, but public transport to them is not very frequent, and the beaches are not very accessible to people with mobility problems, so we haven't been there.

Kalymnos is truly a hidden gem in the Dodecanese islands of Greece, offering a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Known primarily for its world-class rock climbing, the island attracts climbers from all over the world who come to tackle its challenging cliffs and stunning routes. The climbing spots are well-maintained and provide breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea.
Beyond climbing, Kalymnos boasts beautiful beaches with crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The underwater world is vibrant and full of life, making it a paradise for diving enthusiasts.
The island’s capital, Pothia, is a picturesque town with charming streets, colorful houses, and a lively harbor. It’s a great place to explore local shops, enjoy delicious Greek cuisine at the many tavernas, and soak in the vibrant culture.
Kalymnos is also rich in history and tradition. You can visit the Archaeological Museum to learn about the island’s past, or explore ancient ruins and historic churches scattered around the island.
One of the highlights of Kalymnos is the warm and welcoming local community. The islanders are known for their hospitality and make every visitor feel at home. The annual festivals and events showcase the island’s unique culture and traditions, adding to the rich experience.
In summary, Kalymnos offers a unique and enriching experience for travelers seeking adventure, natural beauty, and cultural immersion. Whether you’re a climber, a beach lover, or a history enthusiast, Kalymnos has something special to offer.

Kalymnos is a more traditional Greek island, it is free of the hustle and bustle of Santorini and Mykonos style islands. However for a traveller who wishes to enjoy a few slower days on a quad bike or hire car to self pace a 4-5 day experience I can highly recommend Kalymnos.

Amazing authentic, unpretentious island.
Amazing authentic, unpretentious island. So much good food and fresh fish available. Captured my heart. A car is best because there are some beautiful villages which are a must to visit whilst exploring this fabulous Greek island as Greek as it gets. Don’t forget to visit Telendos this is a must at least for a great lunch and the beach.

The owner met us at the property and welcomed us to Kalymnos with a wonderful tour of the house, and on arrival we had a fully stocked fridge and pantry with everything we could need.
The house is remote but that gives you privacy and the chance to relax and enjoy the beach, the sea and spectacular sunsets. Nice villages within a short drive. Emporios was worth the visit for a meal by the beach.
All in all one of the best villas we have stayed in Europe and would certainly love to return.
We really liked the hospitality of the host, the size and equipment of the house (2 rooms plus kitchen and living room), vicinity of the beach, peaceful environments and a lot of climbing spots around the apartment location.
The host helped us with the scooters rental.
Next to the apartment is a traditional Greek restaurant and a very nice square with running potable water.
Everything was great. The location is great, a 10mn walk to most shops and restaurants, with an exceptional view on Telendos.
Our host has been extremely nice, welcoming and helpful with every aspect of our arrival and departure.
I strongly recommend this place for a stay in Kalymnos as a group !
We love everything. It was perfect ,it's the first time we stayed at this hotel and definitely we will be back!

The host was overwhelmingly friendly, forthcoming and helpful! We went there for a climbing holiday and couldn't have wished for a better stay and location. We will definitely book it again next time we come and we can only recommend it!
