United KingdomThe location is superb, we chose a suite with balcony. In fact there were two balconies, one with sunbed & the other with chairs & table. The view over the harbour was to die for. Everything about the hotel is first class, the staff couldn’t do enough. Whilst it is very central it was never noisy. Hvar is made out to be a party town but we did not find it like that at all, we loved it.

CanadaThe staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large and comfortable with a balcony big enough for 2 chairs and table with no squirming to around each other or the furniture. The view was good.
I can’t say enough about the breakfast. Yum! Only issue was that I ate too much and had to start off my walks rather slowly.

Echoes of the Age of Empires
Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.
Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.
Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.
At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.

A beautiful, quiet medieval fortress city on the beautiful coastline in the Croatian island chain. Prices are a bit higher than mainland cities, but if you’re looking to kick back and relax after exploring what they have to offer, Hvar is a great choice.

We stayed in Hvar for eight days and had a hotel with a pool...
We stayed in Hvar for eight days and had a hotel with a pool. It meant we could have relaxation plus on other days explore Hvar the fort, Cathedral etc, but we also took the ferry to Korcula which is a lovely compact island and we also went to Palmezera on the taxi boat which has a pretty beach and lovely restaurants overlooking the clear blue sea. We would have gone to Brac too but they had some wild fires.

A beautiful town with hidden gems and a glotius fortress. Rrstaurants were of good quality, however, it is very expensive and not good value for money. There are places in Croatia that are just as good and a fraction of the prices charged.

Beautiful island with lots of history.
Beautiful island with lots of history. Hire a car to see the best places. Handy water taxis take you to near islands. Beautiful views of the fortress at night. Lots of places to eat, look up the side streets away from the main square for better value and charming architecture.

It’s a beautiful and historic town with some amazing restaurants and beaches. It is extremely busy however, and popular so comes with a high price point. That said, if you look you can find some gems away from the crowds which are more reasonably priced…

Hvar isn't too crowded, but it's never boring. The atmosphere, the people, and the quality are incredible. The food and accommodation are excellent. It's just a bit expensive due to the high season.

Amazing, paradise to rest, slow down and enjoy ! I felt really soothed and relaxed in this atmosphere; we loved spending time on the private beach reading and drinking hotel cocktails, running along the water's edge in the mornings to Hvar and swimming in our little private beach. We have also been to the gym which were little but suffisant for a quick workout.
The breakfast and the view are fantastics.

Lovely hotel, in a great location just in front of the harbour but set back on the hill. The hotel rooms are traditionally deorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and there is a pretty restaurant and bar for meals and evening drinks. We couldn't hear any noise in our room from outside even though Hvar at night is quite lively.

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Hvar town, it’s a beautiful 10 minute stroll along the coast.
The pool area is lovely and not too crowded and is directly on the beach for swimming and water sports.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating of your needs.

Nice clean fresh rooms. Staff are very helpful & friendly. Great choice of breakfast menu. Its down hill walk to Hvar center but hotel will a taxi for you. The 2 pools are clean & there is sunbeds & and outside bar sitting area..
