ColombiaEverything was more than perfect! Such a lovely boutique hotel located in front of the harbor. We arrive by ferry from Dubrovnik and the hotel is just in front of the where the ferry stops. The welcome so warm offering prosecco, lovely lobby and rooms small but very comfortable looking the sea, we received a complementary upgrade so our room was a suite:-) . Breakfast is à la carte, delicious!! Ask mimosa( included) if you feel like starting the day with energy! The outside terrace is fantastic for sunset or just some drinks anytime!!! Staff Dorde B and Luka so professional and provides great attention to detail for guest to feel right at home.love it!!

Echoes of the Age of Empires
Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.
Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.
Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.
At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.

Hvar isn't too crowded, but it's never boring. The atmosphere, the people, and the quality are incredible. The food and accommodation are excellent. It's just a bit expensive due to the high season.

The negatives.
The negatives. You really have to pay for everything in cash. I booked a private boat tour which required I pay 750 Euros in cash. As a result, I needed to use an ATM. My ATM card must have been skimmed and a fraud alert for a purchase of $338 came across. The result left me no ability to get any cash for the remainder of my trip.
The positive- we had the most memorable experience with the boat trip. The town was very charming and the people very friendly. The town square at night was beautiful.

Hvar is town can be very crowded, particularly at night, but we enjoyed the action. We enjoyed sitting out in the harbor and people watching with a cold drink. There are lots of restaurants, galleries and shops to wander through. You can book day trips all along the waterfront. There's a walkway that runs a couple miles along the water so great for morning walks. We stayed 4 nights in the beginning of our trip and it was perfect.

We loved visiting all the historical sights. Bought an all encompassing ticket to visit the castle on top the hill plus other historical buildings including the old theatre. The harbor especially at night was spectacular!

July is a busy time of the year but there are so many events...
July is a busy time of the year but there are so many events happening that 4 days is just not enough. While I thought 4 days was sufficient, I could have easily stayed there for a full week. Definitely do a tour of the surrounding islands and do an excursion. Go to the museums. Go to the fortress. Go to the beaches. And lastly... bring water shoes! There is no sand here lol.

The town and surrounding islands are stunning. The beaches are beautiful, the food and nightlife was amazing too. I’d definitely love to go again. I’d recommend the taco place (Let’s TACO ‘bout Hvar) and Hvar Brewin Company as great spots to eat. There’s history, activities and great cuisine, what’s not to love?

We loved our stay at Hotel Forr apartment in Hvar! The apartment was super clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. Bonus points for the washing machine and the proper filter coffee machine – with really good coffee provided!
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with a glass of wine, taking in the lovely view. The hosts were really friendly and helpful too. Can definitely recommend this place.

Very nice and clean apartment hotel, with nice location. The hostess is also very service minded and accommodated to our wishes. It’s a quiet location, near the beach and within walking distance from Hvar Town (note: on top of the hill, so maybe take a cab to the hotel on arrival) and two grocery stores.

Perfect location with amazing sea view. Room very spacious, comfortable and clean.
We stayed in family room which was perfect for us. Our daughter's loved the pool. Breakfast was really nice, eating overlooking the beach. Local arranged taxis into Hvar town. A beautiful hotel.

The location was perfect, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the breakfast was very nice. We would highly recommend staying here if in Hvar. The hotel went above and beyond to make our first wedding anniversary feel special.
