While exterior esthetics are a bit dated, this hotel is better than we thought. Checkin was easy. Parking was easy, and included. We had a very big room with sea view; a suite in fact; not sure if we were upgraded. There were 3 balconies. The balconies have a kind of tile screen which looks weird from outside but probably makes sense in the hot sun. Air conditioning was good. Bed was good, 2 different big pillows. Bathroom nice, shower in tub; you do have to step into the tub for the shower, maybe a little difficult if your mobility is reduced. Pool area was very nice; a very big round pool, saltwater, and almost warm. From the pool area you can walk down to the beach, by crossing one street. The beach is pebbles, as is usual around here. You can have drinks or lunch by the pool. Breakfast was in a big room, also possible outside, weather permitting. This hotel is also used for groups; hence the breakfast room being large. We didn't do dinner here. Only thing I didn't really like about breakfast: despite the 3 coffee machines, I couldn't find a larger more diluted coffee. Even the lungo seemed like a strong espresso. 15-20 minute walk into downtown old Zadar, depending on your speed, mostly flat. There are Ubers and taxis. Easy drive back to the airport on last day. If you want to be able to rest and enjoy pool or beach, while being able to walk into town for the afternoon and evening, this is a very good place. It doesn't have any medieval charm, but it has all the modern comforts!

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The property was very clean and well maintained throughout. It’s located about a 15-minute walk from the old town, which made it convenient yet peaceful. Breakfast was lovely, there was a good selection of options to suit different tastes. The woman who welcomed us at reception on arrival was friendly and made us feel very welcome right from the start. The pool area isn’t huge, but it’s just right for the size of the hotel, which has 36 rooms. It felt relaxing and never overcrowded. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

FAQs about hotels in Zadar

Dalmatias Historical Heart

Tucked away on the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by small archipelago, Zadar is sprinkled with Romanesque architecture, medieval churches and protected by 16th century fortifications and high walls.

As the waves crash along the shores, the sea organ will play its harmonic sounds and welcome you to Zadar’s lively and charming Old Town, located across from the mainland. It is lined with marble walkways, landmarks, fascinating museums, and priceless archives.

It is home to the National Museum, Five Wells Square, the 14th-century University of Zadar, and the Roman Forum which features the 9th-century St Donatus' Church and 12th-century St. Mary's Church.

Stroll along the pretty tree-lined promenades and enjoy a meal in the several cafés, restaurants and bars which line Zadar's streets. Visit the popular Peoples Square in the district Narodni trg and shop in the Mercator Centar or City Galleria.

Booking.com has accommodation options in Zadar and across the coastline in cities such as Bibinje, Petrcane and Sukošan. Zadar Airport links the city to several European destinations.

    Zadar old town was great.

Zadar old town was great. Lots to see and great good value restaurants. Really close to the airport so a quick transfer. For self catering the supermarkets were close by. Would recommend hiring a car to explore the area. Krka National Park and Pag Island were great. Can't wait to visit again.

The historic centre takes a day to explore. I'd recommend taking a walking tour with a guide because this city has a diverse history, which is worth learning more about. If you want to bring home something traditional from Zadar, consider a bottle of Maraschino or a piece of Pag cheese.

Zadar is a beautiful place to go for a relaxing break. Sitting on the promenade listening to the sea organ at sunset is magical. The old town with all the tourist attractions is in a small area so very easy to walk everywhere. There is a huge choice of restaurants and fabulous ice creams.

Zadar is a pleasant port city, and I was surprised to find it smaller than I expected. It has a beautiful Old Town, including several modern art installations like the Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ. I recommend climbing the bell tower of St. Anastasia’s Cathedral for a great view, visiting the Sea Organ during bigger waves for the best effect, and definitely seeing the Greeting to the Sun at night when it lights up. We had dinner at The Well restaurant – the food was exceptionally well prepared, yet prices were similar to regular restaurants. For ice cream, don’t miss Bob Rock’s Ice Cream Shop on Varoška Street. The airport bus is a great option – it runs frequently and costs just €5. We walked everywhere in the city, as everything is within easy reach. Depending on what you’re looking for, you can cover the main sights in one or two days, including the museums. Bars and nightlife aren’t really our thing, but from what we saw during evening walks through the city, there’s definitely no shortage of options – the Old Town is full of lively spots to choose from. For better beaches, I’d recommend exploring some of the smaller towns nearby.

A beautiful old town with a rich history, fascinating sea sceneries, clean azure water of the Adriatic sea, unique pieces of architecture like the sea organ and the Monument to the sun. But the prices for everything are extremely high, and it's difficult to find good and affordable local food, everything is so touristy.

Perfect, centrally located in the old town, the apartment is in an atrium between buildings which is great as the street life noise doesn't disturb your stay. The room is tastefully furnished, and quality of furnishing and supplements is as in 5 star hotel room. The bathroom is even more elegant. Blinds and windows nets are providing additional comfort. We felt very good for choosing to stay here for our short, 3-day stay. Our host was very friendly and pleasant, great in providing us with all the information. We'll be back :)

We loved here. During our trip here was our best location. We felt like at home. Our host was so welcoming, she made our stay definitely a 5 star experience. The complimentary treats when we arrived were really nice. The room was very peaceful. There were 2 balconies. Also a nice couch to relax and read books. We cannot enjoy more and we visited here one more time also on our way back. So we could play with Lea ( the doggy) and the cat. If u come to Zadar and feel like at home don’t search for another place.

Ideal for our short stopover in Zadar- only a 15 minute stroll into the old town. In a lovely quiet area with access to a pebble beach area. Spotlessly clean room and hotel overall. Our room was large room with 3 balconies (i think we were upgraded as it was low season) and sea view. Breakfast buffet was surprisingly good and included lots of local specialities to try. Great pool area for relaxing (but didn't swim as its early in the season and too cold for me!). Easy access free parking.

Really lovely apartment in the heart of old town. The owner was amazing and went out of her way to let us in early to drop our bags and also allow us to leave the bags a bit longer on the last day. The bed was really spacious (only 1.8m I have seen in Croatia on our travel). Apartment has everything you need and a really nice couch to hang out. Zadar is amazing and worth a visit. I will go back definitely.

We needed a place to sleep 1 night on the way and then visit Zadar as an "extra". The location is easily reachable by car, many shops nearby, but old town is a long walk, better to go by car. The appartment is well equipped and we had a huge place. The owner is friendly and helpful, answered both booking.com chat and sms/telefon within a short time. Would have been suitable for longer stay as well.
