The city centre is fantastic, full of life, yet not too busy. It is full of hidden murals which depict the city's history. There are many beautiful buildings to discover. The locals are friendly and relaxed. It is worth to visit the park called the Big Forest, it is pleasant to walk there and there are many activities for children such as zoo and a water park with thermal baths. For nightlife I'd recommend Hal köz, where are many bars and restaurants with great vibe.

So much to do and so easy to get around.

So much to do and so easy to get around. Such a lively city, but still not overwhelming. We will definitely have to return as we couldn't possibly do everything that the city has to offer. So many green places, but also plenty of shops and restaurants. The tram line makes getting around really easy and there are plenty of taxis available too.

Debrecen is a wonderful city to visit and live in. It has a charming mix of history, culture, and modern life. The city center is very walkable, with beautiful squares, cozy cafés, and the impressive Great Reformed Church as a landmark. Public transport is easy to use, and the tram line makes getting around the city straightforward. What makes Debrecen especially nice is its relaxed atmosphere compared to Budapest — it feels calm and welcoming, yet still lively with students and young people thanks to the University of Debrecen. The university itself and the surrounding park are absolutely worth a visit. For nature lovers, the Nagyerdő (Great Forest) area is perfect for walks, cycling, or just relaxing. This town is a must see!

This town is a must see! Wonderful museums (Agora, Modem, Déri), hidden gem cafes (Vintage World), thermal water (Aquaticum), concerts and other shows at the Kölcsey Cultural center, a walk in the Big Forest near the University or in the historic town center with amazing architecture and the emblematic Great Church. We shall return and spend some real time exploring!

Vibrant town in Eastern Hungary, with long history, and modern vibe. Worth visiting for the main sights: the "big church" and the "big forest", Déri museum and the Zoo, but also for the nightlife and the cafés and restaurants. Easy access by train, plane and motorway, and a peaceful yet vibrant inner city with a nice pedestrian quarter. Good shopping in two plazas and some shopping centers outside of the city. There is also a theatre, the university with events going on, a health spa and aquatic wellness center and even a puppet theatre for the kids! Overall a great place to see.

It is a beautiful and spacious apartment in the city centre. You have public transport very close if you want to go to Aquaticum or the train station. The check-in and check-out were easy, and the parking was a big bonus. There are restaurants and bars all around if you want to go out, but you can't hear the noise in the apartment. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the place, and I would recommend it.

We booked last minute and for the location: the New Year's Eve party on Debrecen' main square was actually 3 min away. The restaurant was excellent (both for breakfast - really nice choices a la carte and for dinner. The room was spacious; the view for the main pedistrian street (illuminated) nice. Parking was convenient, though a little walk (like 300 meters maybe).

The hotel is right next to the Thermal Bath and within lovely green surrounding. We heard the birds singing in the morning. The staff was very kind. We even received an electric kettle to our room which was not included originally with our room (I didn’t know/misread the information). I definitely recommend this place for a relaxing stay.

It is a private house with 3 apartments in a quiet neighborhood, not far from the Aquaticum. The owner called us before our arrival, explained how to get the keys form the lock box. She was very kind. It was clean, the kitchen equipped with everything we needed for cooking a meal.
