Bumi Ayu is in the perfect location for us with only a short walk to a great number of restaurants and bars. It is great value for money and whilst it is not 5 star accommodation it is quite comfortable with a pool that is in full sun for most of the day and then in shade in the afternoon for a dip before deciding where to for dinner tonight.

The location was great, right across from the new Icon Bali shopping mall, you could get anything you want or need and you had a short air conditioned walk to the beach. Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.

Lots of great restaurants and shops and spas along the main street and beach. Just make sure you take note of high tide to maximise the time you spend on the beach as it is very low tide when it goes out.

Our favourite place was our private villa with the swimming pool - it really is a luxury to be in a place that has such great weather where you can enjoy a pool in October.
The beach is good although we would have liked to have known which spots are the best for swimming/walking/chilling out etc. Probably my favourite experience was biking on the promenade in the early morning before it gets packed. You get to see a decent section of the beach and notice things you won't notice when the place is busy like the turtle sanctuary.
I recommend getting Grab or Gojek (both like Uber) for easy and economical rides. It was our first time in Bali so we weren't game enough to hire scooters or a car. The drivers really are impressive and courtesy reins in the narrow side streets packed with cars, scooters and dogs :-)
One thing we didn't like was the market sellers following you around trying to get you to buy things. Asking is fine - following you down the walkway harassing you or arguing with you when you ask them to leave you alone is not!! The only way to avoid this would be avoid going to the beachside market areas - it tainted my experience of visiting Sanur Beach. We also stayed in Ubud and I found the market sellers there much better - still keen for you to buy things off them but not aggressive.

Very nice spot. A lot of local bars, restaurants etc.
Very nice spot. A lot of local bars, restaurants etc. I will come back to this place. Not that far away from Denpasar airport and plenty of things to visit within an hour driving. Do not drive by yourself, grab a taxi. Get a Bali massage in one of the local spots, not on the beach. And please, when you order some foode please take it not to spicy!

Sanur is a quaint part of Bali. It has lovely beaches and enough shops to relax and have Lunch/Dinner. It has a major Shopping Centre ICON Bali which although quite nice, might detract from the 'vibe' of Sanur.

Many Sanur bars are expat type places, where you can strike up some good conversations. The dining choices in Sanur are incredible from warung to fine dining, from beach locations to Jalans and Gang eating. I think Sanur probably suits a more mature traveller rather than nightclubbing hard out party goers. I have graduated from Kuta Legian stays to Sanur and will definitely be back.

We like to thank Erna,Ade and the whole Team for our great stay at the pinkprivate Sanur. We felt welcomed and had a very good start to Bali staying here. We have walked a lot around and made use of the free rental of the pink bikes. Our breakfast were beautiful and tasty. The hotel is lovely decorated, provides water & coffees and biscuits through the day and is been looked after very well. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Thank you!!!
Good breakfast.
Our last night in Bali so we wanted a peaceful night sleep and a nice pool to enjoy a relaxing morning before heading to the airport. I’m glad we chose Sanur as its very beautiful still and the taxi ride took an hour, I’m sure it would have been as long or longer if we had stayed closer to the airport due to traffic.
We had our last massage at the Hotel by Martini, it was the BEST of the whole holiday!
Sanur is the most peaceful, stunning place and Tandjung Sari is definitely the jewel in the crown! Very unique Balinese bungalows with its own pool and private beachfront. The attention to detail is fabulous and the staff are dedicated to delivering an amazing level of hospitality and truly make the holiday! My husband had his birthday on our trip and the hotel made a wonderful celebration dinner for him! incredible!
This was my fourth time staying in this hotel. Location is perfect and the breakfast buffet is the best I've seen anywhere in Indonesia. It's close to everything in Sanur, but once you are back in the hotel, it's pretty quiet again. Staff is super friendly and is always willing to help you with anything. My "home away from home" whenever I visit Bali.
Stunning location on the beach at Sanur. My room was near the beach - not with a view - but I felt I was in paradise. The room was large, comfortable and they provide free water in the rooms. Breakfast was delicious. Close to an abundance of great Day Spas and plenty of other food choices for lunches and dinners wandering away from the hotel.
