Everything about this hotel spoke "quality". Reception welcome, friendly staff, attention to detail in the room, luxurious touches such as body lotion, conditioner, biscuits, robes and slippers... modern light and curtain and heating and door indications controls. Food was excellent. Gym and spa small but comfortable and great for city centre location.

FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

The primarty reason for visiting Dublin was to visit the historic pubs cited by Frank McCourt in his 2008 PBS Documentary Historic Pubs of Dublin. I am pleased to report that we visited all of them--they are still in business, under the same ownership. One of the reasons for my success is that Dublin is a compact city with excellent taxis service. We ate a lot of pub food in the process with the Brazen Head, Kavanaugh's Gravedigger Bar, Meagher's Bar, Stag's Head, and Doheny and Nesbitt taking the top spots. Our favorite spots included-- Christchurch Cathedral, St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublina, the Guinness Storehous, EPIC, St. Stephen's Green, The National Gallery, the National Museum-Archeology, and the Museum of Irish Literature. All the Irish people we met were gracious, friendly and patient with our inquiries. Never had any worries about our personal safety. Overall, the visit exceeded my expectation, except for warmer than expected weather.

Only 2 days in Dublin… lively, friendly city. Live music everywhere. We did a few tours ( walking, famine ship ,kilmarnin gaol, little museum of Dublin etc) … apart from improving my history, all our guides were ‘characters’ and highly entertaining… wished I’d had a lot more time

Not as busy as other large cities and most areas were walkable. Guiness Storehouse is excellent. However disappointing amount of litter everywhere on route. Previoisly we have been on a hop on bus which was very good and explains the history of dublin.

Dublin is a beautiful city.

Dublin is a beautiful city. We went for the Dublin Horse Show, which was somewhat disappointing becoming more commercialized over the years. General admission was 30 Euro, the Grandstand was 50 Euro but definitely worth it if you are there to see the horses, not the tourists. The taxi to the show was 16 - 18 Euro for two and the hotel reception called on for us every day. The longest wait was 7 minutes. The only major issue for me was the uneven cobblestones and crowds unaware of your presence, We visited several pubs and found them all welcoming - but crowded. No safety concerns walking in the early evening and plenty of taxis and buses to take if you wanted.

Dublin’s a compact, walkable capital that punches above its size on atmosphere. The literary and pub culture is the real draw : you can trace Joyce and Yeats through the streets, then settle into a proper session with live trad music. Temple Bar is touristy and overpriced (locals mostly avoid it), but the pubs a few streets over are where the city actually lives. Highlights worth your time: Trinity College and the Book of Kells, the Guinness Storehouse for the rooftop views, Kilmainham Gaol for the history, and just wandering Georgian Dublin and along the Liffey. The National Museum and Chester Beatty Library are excellent and free.

I stayed at Leonardo Hotel Dublin Parnell Street. Overall, the experience was good. The main advantage is the location. The hotel is in the city centre, within easy walking distance of major attractions and transport. The staff were polite, and check-in was smooth. The room was spacious, very clean, and in good condition. There was no noise from the street, which made the stay comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety and quality. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would happily stay here again.
