All the employees greets you with a warm welcome. We are a group of 6 and everyone in the group were in love with each detail of the members. Sara and Monica at the breakfast are the best! We asking a boy in the restaurant if we can order only dessert and he said of course. He bring the dessert and a cup of tea too at the lobby. Sure we want to return!

FAQs about hotels in Galway

Cracking City of Craic

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.

The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly colored shops and restaurants.

Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which has an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.

Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.

Booking.com has an excellent range of Galway hotels, apartments and B&Bs to complete your stay.

Galway was a breath of fresh air after a week in Dublin.

Galway was a breath of fresh air after a week in Dublin. Still so much to do and see but in a more relaxed environment. The location music, entertainment, and food scene is excellent, and you can't beat how close you are to so many natural wonders.

Galway is a vibrant and exciting town to visit.

Galway is a vibrant and exciting town to visit. We always love to return there. A gig at the Town Hall Theatre was our reason this time. Its a fantastic venue...great value, easily accessible and a fully seated auditorium. We visited Garavans, The Hole in the Wall and Monroes...all good pubs. Dough Bros for amazing pizza. Javas Cafe was perfect for proper French crepes the next morning.

Meeting up with an old friend I took the opportunity to spend a couple of days wandering around and catching up on what is new and what remains from years past. Plenty to see old and new. I also took the opportunity to buy some new Aran jumpers. Galway remains a lively centre with plenty to see and eateries to enjoy.

Enjoyed day trio to Connemara, Leenane Village and Kylemore Abbey. Had hoped to do more tours, such as Cliffs of Moehr, but my friend was not up to it physically. Beautiful countryside and the people were warm and welcoming. Dining at various pubs, Venice Cafe, Kylemore Abbey Roots, Lidl Grocery Store.

The Cathedral was beautiful.

The Cathedral was beautiful. We walked around the college campus and stopped to talk to a crew team coming back from practice. The City Museum was so interesting. I believe we spent over an hour. We ate or drank at the following: M.Fitzgerald's Bar, The Kings Head, Queen Street Galway and Tigh Neachtain. All great places and wonderful staff.

I loved Galway. My parents - now departed - were born there. I visited as a child but this time as a tourist. A vibrant city, lovely people, beaches - just everything. The hot weather in May was a bonus. The food is great, the vibe is great, really had a great time.

Surprisingly, our room had excellent beds. I slept very well and felt rested during our stay. I found the gym fantastic. This makes up for the low scores we gave due to the run-down rooms. The lobby and the restaurant are exactly what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Close to the city center. Rating for these items: 9. 9 and 7 added together and divided by two make a total of 8.

Beautiful hotel in a great location just a few minutes drive from galway city centre and salthill. The staff were so friendly and the whole hotel Is child friendly. Our kids spent 1.5 hours upstairs yesterday evening watching a movie in the friendly fellows club. Gave mammy and daddy some time to enjoy the great music in the bar. Will definitely stay here again.
