Lovely quiet place with green beauty all around. John and Sandra were extremely welcoming. Left the following morning with our tummies full from a yummy Irish breakfast, John cooked. Hopefully, we will return one day. Thanks again.

Had such a beautiful stay. Got to meet the owner and he’s a lovely man. Communication was fantastic. House lovely and cosy. We saw wildlife in the field beside the house. Couldn’t fault it. Would highly recommend if visiting the midland country areas.

A nice historic town, plenty of options for shopping, eating and exploring. Very nice cafes for morning coffee. Fun pubs for sports and traditional music. Getting around is easy. Regan's And Gleesons are both worth visiting for dining.

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants.

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants. Breakfast tends to open at 09:00 and service ends about 21:00. Pubs stay open till 23:00 or so weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The circle K is 24 hours. Some pizza places stay open and serve till 23:30. It has several men's and women's clothing shops. Pharmacies and gift shops. Other dry goods and a Supervalue and Tesco. It is a very walkable town and both the Castle and Old Abbey are a few walking minutes from downtown. We ate at the Cozy Cafe( closed Sundays), The Rogue Cafe and The Pantry for breakfast. All were very pleasant. We liked Ryan's Bar. Quietish and Michael was a great host/barman. We had dinner at Regans, Jackson's and China King. ~€100 for three adults with wine. We really enjoyed the walkable nature of the town. Especially, coming back to Tatlers Guesthouse after spending time at the pubs.

None of us had been here before.

None of us had been here before. We did the river tour to Clonmacnoise with Hidden Heartland tours, and despite the awful weather when we were there, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We ate at Thyme restaurant for one of the nights - fabulous. We now have some very good memories to cherish in the future, from the accommodation, tour and meal.

We have family in Roscommon so we’ve been there a few time, it’s a lovely little town with such friendly people. Everything you would need is all within walking distance it’s a great place to go for a short break, we stayed at the Abbey hotel so there was no need to use the car to go into town. We can’t wait to go back next year.

Roscommon has more to show then what meets the eye, I particularly enjoyed my brief visit to the castle. On my return I intend to make use of the professional staff. Wonderful little eateries in the town with tasty fare at very reasonable prices. More should be made of the beautiful church buildings.

The rooms were so well decorated and cosy. A real home from home experience. Food in bar was delish. More like a boutique hotel than a townhouse and bar. 5 star experience!
