    The room was freezing (as we're others) , the staff unhelpful and an unapologetic manager. Couldn't manage to get my rewards without multiple visits to reception (at least two other guests gave up) and got slapped by a 25euro charge for checking in an hour early .

    the things that were wrong were fixed but there is still some confusion about the payment. I think we will get this right soon. perhaps delete the previous review and perhaps I just won't put one up which I think is better.

    Shannon airport is a hidden gem of a flying experience.

    Shannon airport is a hidden gem of a flying experience. I highly recommend you use Shannon as your airport, especially for a holiday on Ireland's west coast. If you don't want to drive, it is well connected via bus to Galway or to Limerick, which has connections to everywhere else in Ireland via bus and train. If you do want to drive, you probably don't want to stay right in Shannon, but there is something for everyone nearby.

    Airport is so efficient and staff are professional .Security is done so efficiently, a really painless experience and so much better that other airports. The local road system is a joy and well signposted. Our stay at Oakwood hotel was just lovely and staff were really great, always available and ultra helpful. The hotel was peaceful, comfortable and food of excellent quality.

    We flew in to Shannon from London & used it as jumping off point to other areas in & south of Shannon. Convenient location. People we encountered were very friendly there, & really everywhere we went over our 4 days on the island.

    We very much enjoyed are stay in are accommodation near Shannon Airport, we wasn't expecting it to be so lovely at Carrygerry Country House Hotel. It only took 12 minutes to drive to it from the airport and nicely welcomed at the door by Gillian and shown to are room. Shannon airport, easy to park, easy to get too by car.

    It was a short journey from the airport to the hotel we arrived late. No delay at check in, room was comfy we had a great nights sleep. Good choice for breakfast at the buffet and you could a fresh breakfast from the kitchen. Hotel was nicely decorated and staff were friendly and helpful. Even the sun was shining

    Very close to Shannon Airport - very convenient if you need a place to lay your head after 26 hours travelling or before a 6.40 am checkin. Good food in the restaurant though servings way too big for me.
