The location was at the center and during our stay we almost never used the bus because a lot of the places we visited were close to the hotel. The room was clean and was cleaned every day and also we were getting clean towels every day (you put the used ones on the floor of the bathroom).
If you're going there just to do tourist stuff like staying out all day and just going back to the hotel for sleep, then this could be a good option for you.
Overlooking the River Liffey, The Arlington is in the heart of Dublin and home to Dublin’s longest-running traditional Irish dinner and dancing show, which is open everyday.

This central Dublin hotel is located on Harcourt St. off the south west corner of St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin City Center. All major attractions are within walking distance of the hotel.

We had breakfast buffet at the Pantry, dinner twice at East, room service and drinks. Our room had a nice view, was clean and comfortable. We were close enough to walk and taxi around Dublin yet be a bit away from the late night action.

There is a Good CarPark, but if you don't have a Car, you can hire a GoCar, or get one of the Many Public Buses. Dublin bus has the 24hr E1 service from Bray to Ballymun, through the City Centre, using the Stillorgan Road or the E2 from Dun Laoire to Finglas. Aircoach stops right outside. S6 to Blackrock and Tallaght Square.

Stillorgan is predominantly a suburban, residential area so not really for tourists. However it is easily accessible to the city center by bus and also you can take a 15 minute or so walk to the Luas (light rail system) which also brings you to the city center or even Dundrum shopping center which has cinemas, restaurants and mini golf for those rainy days with the kids.

Fabulous old hotel with lots of well preserved history.
Fabulous old hotel with lots of well preserved history. Easy to reach from the N11 coming from the Motorway. Area is lovely and peaceful, had to stay there because of the nearby Embassy which is reachable by walking.

The room was very run down and very old fashioned.
The room was very run down and very old fashioned. Dont know how it has a 5 star rating. I've stayed in 4 star nicer and more modern than it. The noise level was crazy. People from a wedding going in and out if eachothers rooms through the night. We reported it by phone to the duty manager. He offered us a different room but that long into the night we just didn't want too. He also said there was no noise so it was like he was saying we were lying. Put at a drafty terrible table for dinner. Asked to be moved.told no and then witnessed other residents being moved when they asked could they. Will not return.

Has a GoCar Base in the Carpark (Pay as You Go Car Hire) and location for me is easy to get everywhere I need. Dublin Bus 46a, 47, 145, 155 all pass and stop outside, also the 7b & 7d. Aircoach 700 service. Easy to get bus to Galloping Green for Aircoach 702 Service if needed. A short walk, or drive, to Stillorgan SC for McDonalds and other cafe, restaurents, shops and a Tesco’s.
The hotel is perfectly located to be in the City Centre within 15 minutes and /or escape from the city to the coastline and mountains.
There is easy public transport to all local areas of interest.
The hotel bar and menu is also well worth a visit.
The room was fantastic. Bala was the ultimate front of house who upgraded us to a suite. The room was spacious, and the temperature was nice. We were audience members on the late late show and the hotel was ideally located
