Keflavik was surprising.
Keflavik was surprising. We expected a very industrial town, and while this is true, there is a nice walk along the waterfront with information boards and you can carry on to some more wild coast if you have time. Very convenient for the airport, but quiet and safe. The main street is a bit run down but there are places to eat and drink that look not too bad.

We stayed in this hotel, for one night.
We stayed in this hotel, for one night. After arriving at the airport, we checked into the hotel and left the following day, since we had other accommodations booked in the center city of Reykjavík for the rest of our stay. However, this first day and night in Iceland was one of the most memorable. The hotel itself was quite lovely and perfectly situated. We went to the blue Lagoon in the afternoon and the location was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs an overnight stay near the airport.

I would've preferred to have stayed closer to the airport...
I would've preferred to have stayed closer to the airport but this lodging fit our needs for a one night stay before an early flight for a family of five. I would not consider this hotel for a longer stay as it is quite dated and lacks amenities.

Keflavik airport (KEF) was super crowded and chaotic and in no way could it accommodate the 45 minute transfer which Icelandair had booked for us, on its own flights. Plan on at least 2 hours for a transfer here. Better yet, avoid KEF altogether.

Easy to get around on foot, lots to do. Food tour was great.Shopping & eating out is very expensive! But lots of interesting places to eat.
But really hard when having a car, parking is very hard to find, signage is hard to understand. There is many zones - need information about them.
Parking in the wrong zone or the wrong time can be very expensive!

The hotel was conveniently situated for the airport and provided an efficient free shuttle service to the airport. It was in a quiet location with access to restaurants and a grocery store. We did not sample the restaurant at the hotel, but it looked very nice and the choices were well-priced. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was very good with a really good selection of items. The location was really nice by the water. It was nice to have a balcony to see the ocean from the room. The food at the restaurant was excellent and good value for money. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay. It is very close to the airport.

The guesthouse is located near the airport. Everything you need is in the hallas - a kettle, coffee, tea, a toaster and a table with chairs. Comfortable and clean bathrooms with towels, shower gel and hairdryer. Breakfast at the hotel across the street was delicious, perfect after a long journey.

Really friendly receptionist. Not all Icelandic people are but she was. If you're renting a car from the airport it's metres to drop your car off, get to the hotel and walk to the terminal. Restaurant was OK - Iceland prices on the high side but not crazy. Parking is fine.
