The hotel is perfectly situated along the Main Street in Reykjavik. Access to the Bónus supermarket next year is very beneficial with all restaurants and tourist shops within a very short distance. Bus stop 9 is just down the road which is where pick up for various day trips and transfers is from. The beds are comfortable and there's a lovely view over the city from the room. The staff are so kind and helpful from the moment you enter the premises. I felt very safe in the hotel as you cannot get up to the bedrooms in the hotel without scanning your key card. The provision of two duvets on the bed is ideal as you avoid any hassle with duvet stealing and it can make it more comfortable sleeping in the warmth of the room.

Iceland seemed overrun by visitors, especially as cruise ships were in port. Tourism is now the main source of income. Local businesses were taking full advantage. Prices are expensive and attitudes more serious than friendly we found. But it is a unique place, geothermally heated and continuously earthquake active. Reykjavík is a medium sized city, well spread out, and not flat. It is the only settlement of any size. We did not eat out. Others told us that visitors pay double the price of locals in restaurants .

We spent 3 1/2 days in Reykjavik.

We spent 3 1/2 days in Reykjavik. Went to Blue Lagoon on the day we arrived. Spent two days on full day tours (Golden Circle & South Coast). We used the other day to walk all of downtown. We were able to cover pretty much all of downtown in a day.

The weather prevented us from exploring the Old Harbour, which is a favourite tourist spot. However we were content just walking the neighbourhood from Center Hotels Klopp. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner of arctic char and pizza at Dass Reykjavik. Food was beautifully prepared and the music was great to dine and relax to. Another wonderful place for dinner was Krua Thai - authentic Thai dishes! It was so good we went there for a second time for our last dinner before leaving. Every dish was delicious - Tom Yum, Pad Thai, fried (popcorn) shrimp, and Red curry and dumplings. We only allotted one full day in Reykjavik but the cold weather curtailed our exploring the city as much as we planned. Our next two days were filled with 10 or 11 hour tours from Reykjavik to the Golden Circle and then the South Coast - I couldn't have planned our time any better!!

You really need a 5 - 7 days to see Iceland. Outdoor sites are too far apart. Best to just do a Rental Car and circle the Island. Rejakavik nice city but way over priced. Just like Coipenhagen, Stockholm in terms of pricing.

If you like fish, and especially char, this is the place to be. The restaurants are superb, and the museums thoughtfully laid out. The Museum of Art, the Settlement, The National Museum were so proud and beautifully done. Colorful houses, well-tended gardens, friendly people, clean air. What a beautiful place to live.

There was enough parking place in front of the hotel. Easy reachable to the city centre, airport and the rest of the island. Breakfast was good. During the whole day you have possibility to have tea or coffee. Hotel lobby is nice and comfortable. But the staff is the best! Although you don't have classic reception, staff is available at some point. Special thanks to Philip who helped us a lot and was at our disposal all the time. Cleaning ladies are also very friendly.

I only stayed for one night and didn't spend much time at the hostel but for a bed to sleep in for one night it was totally fine, clean and friendly staff. I was there in May and there were not many other guests, so the bathrooms were free and clean. Can totally recommend it if you are looking for a cheap and good option to stay one or two nights in Reykjavik. The best thing: it is super close to the city center!

Location of this hotel is perfect, with also an easy large (paid, but cheap) parking area in front of the door, in just 5 minutes you are downtown Reykjavik. Breakfast was a big plus, lots of choice with a great view. Rooms were ok, not incredibly new or modern but fine and clean.
