Beautiful hotel, very close to the bus terminal where you'll tend to end up when traveling from the airport, and from which youll be setting off for the blue lagoon, northern lights.. Also close to interesting places like the punk museum, rainbow street, the cathedral and not too far away from everything else. Staff were outstanding, room was brilliant.

I wish I had more time in Reykjavik to explore the shops and restaurants and the bakeries. Best burgers & shakes at the Big Lebowski! I also would've like to go into the concert hall (and up to the bell tower of Skolavorduholt, but there was a wedding about to happen, so our time was limited. If you drive, just plan to park your car and walk everywhere. Since we went in late May, it was almost 24 hours of light, so you can lose track of time, but we felt safe walking late at night. There are cats that roam around, but they aren't strays. Trust me when I say that they are well taken care of, and very friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Reykjavík was a lovely, compact, and walkable city.

Reykjavík was a lovely, compact, and walkable city. There is an interesting mix of late 19th century, early 20th century buildings and ultra modern archetecture. Despite being the capital of a small country, there were a lot of very good museums. The Harpa is a treasure as a performance venue. There are excellent restaurants, albeit the food is relatively expensive even compared to our home area, NYC. Finally, it is the gateway to Iceland, which is otherworldly and beautiful.

Cool place, cool people.

Cool place, cool people. Pricey, especially for touristy things. Great coffee and bars. Supermarkets are relatively reasonable so self catering is the way to go. Spectacular landscape, especially if you are interested in geology, ornithology, hiking, horse riding etc Innumerable spectacular waterfalls, hot springs, volcanic craters, geysers, glaciers ten-a-penny. Mind blowing to walk in the rift between the tectonic plates

About the official Reykjavik it can be said that it is a small capital with few real attractions. Such as a substantial historical museum that also covers the period of occupation during the 40s and objectively explains the cod war during the 70s with the UK. But the alternative choices are many, You only have to move a bit from the area around Rainbowstreet and the parliament to find nice, interesting people and pubs.

Excellent location, very central, city center only 5 minutes' walk, harbor no more than 10 minutes' walk. Lots of restaurants around, but the street is quiet. We took a shuttle from the airport and several excursions with Reykjavik Excursions, Fly Bus, and it was very convenient, the drop-off stop is only 5 minutes from the hotel. Hotel is very quit, we sleept well, litery ok, we had everything we need in the small kitchen. The supermarket is also just 5 minutes from the hotel. Everything was very clean.

Amazing breakfast, very kind and helpful staff, incredible restaurant to have dinner, and just a 3 minutes walk from Bus Stop #1, where most tours depart from (Bus Stop #2 is equally close). It’s also just a small walk from the city center, hence definitely a great location. If you find the hotel’s restaurant too expensive, there are cheaper and very good alternatives nearby. The room we stayed at was cozy, equipped, and included basic amenities, like Nespresso coffee capsules and tea bags.

The hotel has self check-in, and once we figured out the keypads for the doors (we were entering the wrong code initially 🤣), this made it super simple throughout our stay! The rooms were huge, modern and had everything you need! Location is perfect, right in the centre of Reykjavík with bars and restaurants all around! If hiring a car, the Tradarkot car park round the corner is ideal and super cheap! £1.50 for the first hour and then £0.75/hour thereafter!!

The location was perfect to roam around downtown Reykjavik. For the room makeup-wise, it was pretty much different from what I saw on the pics of the website. The hotel skipped our room make-up for the first day so it wasn’t a pleasant experience to stay with wet towels for the first night. Hope the room condition as for hygiene to be improved.
