The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

Hotel is very expensive for a fairly average place. It is very well located, just outside Skaftafell National Park. The surroundings are beautiful - just behind the hotel you can pick up a trail to a fantastic viewpoint of the glacier, with almost no people (but you need not stay in the hotel for that). If you can, go late afternoon or evening. The room was very basic, but nice and clean. Breakfast was nice, with wonderful bread. A very convenient diner-type restaurant is just across the street, with very friendly staff. Good burgers.
Featuring a hot tub, Klettasel Villa by Ourhotels is located in Hof. The property has pool and garden views, and is 38 km from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.

Everything!
Peaceful location very close to Skaftafell National Park and Jokulsarlon Lagoon. The space was super well divided with brand new furniture and all one can need, and very clean. The view was really beautiful.

stunning, make sure you walk all the way down the trail, there are two other gorgeous waterfalls that a lot of people missed by not going all the way to end end of the trail (which is only a few hundred meters long).

This is an amazing place to hike and see some glorious views - especially on a clear day - which can be a bit tricky. We were extremely fortunate to have some of the the sunniest days recorded. Could not ask for a more comfortable hike. There are glacier hikes that you can pay for but honestly parking at the Park and hiking up yourself is something you will not soon forget. Not too laborious, but you defintely feel like you are exercising. Loved every minute of this hike and I wish I could have stayed longer.

This is a lovely hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. This location is most excellent, with the Skatafell park and glacier basically in its back yard. After check-in it was a short stroll up to view the glacier. We were able to view the glacier from the hillside paths and also get closer to them at certain points.
It was great to have the bar and restaurant onsite where we enjoyed really nice food.
Amazing trail and view at the back of the hotel. We had a good time walking at night time under the midnight sun. Fields of lupines against the backdrop of the glacier. Check in was smooth, staff were friendly. Warm and comfortable room.
