BEAUTIFUL VIEW. WE arrived very early, 0950 , on a Flight from Munich. Staff checked us into our room immediately which meant we could rest after our “ jet lag”. very very much appreciated!!

Probably often overlooked because it’s a major port city, Ancona is really worth a visit. The pleasant city centre is reasonably compact and not overcrowded. We liked the historic centre, with the duomo on top of the hill (lift available), a palace and museums, the Roman arch etc. Great views from Belvedere point over the harbour and 14th century quarantine hospital. There are also some nice beaches, but being mid-November we gave them a miss.

Ancona is not just another coastal town – for me, it’s a truly special place that resonates deeply with my sensibility. It has this calm, authentic atmosphere of the Italian seaside, without the overwhelming crowds, yet full of charm, soul, and subtle beauty. The city lives in contrast – sea and hills, history and everyday life, serenity and elegance. Whether you're walking along the waterfront, sipping espresso in a quiet piazza, or getting lost in the narrow streets of the old town, you feel like you belong. What touched me the most was the sense of peace and connection. Ancona doesn’t ask you to adapt to it – it quietly adapts to you. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a city that will win them over not with noise or flash, but with depth, warmth, and quiet grace.

Many of the main attractions were closed.

Many of the main attractions were closed. Some because of an earthquake a few years ago but others with no explanation. Poor identification of sights made them difficult to find especially when they were closed when we got there. The evening atmosphere was lively - lots of young people enjoying themselves. The food was typical of a tourist town although reviews online helped identify the better restaurants.

Absolute find!

Absolute find! Great hotel, great views, friendly staff, great rooms & breakfast was delicious. The rooftop restaurant was excellent. Nothing bad to say, each course was exceptional. The attention to detail is second to none.

The B&B was very nice. It was homie and well decorated. The staff was a little slow in responding to requests but did meet those requests eventually. The place was very easy to find and access as the instructions were very clear. That said, it was a bit of a process. The walls are quite thin and that was probably the biggest issue I had but other than that it was wonderful. The place was very clean, especially the bathroom and the food selection was decent.

Ancona is a beautiful nice little town with a lot of historic places to visit. A very clean, portal city with nice hospitable locals. Good for people who want to relax and get away from busy noisy city centers. You must know that Ancona is situated in a hilly area, so you need to be prepared to take reasonable stairways connecting streets, reaching the center and historic sites. You can find a lot of nice seafood restaurants as well as great pizzerias!

Very helpful and willing owner Marco, picked us up even after a very delayed arrival from the airport at 1 am, very good communication. He drove us to and from the beach once for free, gave us tips on beaches, restaurants and fun places for the kids. We have no objections and highly recommend it to everyone :-) Thanks Marco, six stars out of five!

Good self-service breakfast with choice of yoghurts, croissants, cake in an excellent kitchen with own space in the refrigerator. Large well-furnished room. Excellent location next door to the hospital where my wife was staying. Free on-site parking. Good and cheap bus service into the centre of Ancona.

A pet friendly hotel we stayed with two cats. The Location to Ancona Port it was located for easy on going travel. The staff were excellent. The evening menu and breakfast was exceptional.
