The facilities at the hotel were absolutely fine for our one night stay, prior to an early flight the following morning. It was quiet, located perfectly for the airport and the staff were efficient and friendly. We ate in the restaurant, for which we had read varying reports. In our opinion it was very good, although perhaps a bit pricey. After our holiday we returned to the hotel for one night and experienced similar reactions. We didn't dine there but had a snack at the bar. It is certainly a hotel we would not hesitate to use again if flying from Bologna.

FAQs about hotels in Bologna

A Gourmet Delight

World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered better than in this medieval gem.

Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look out for ragú on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savour their food, so a meal can last for hours.

Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops can be found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage listed. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views over this red-roofed city.

The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square are the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088 and home to the city’s best museums.

Bologna accommodation on Booking.com ranges from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.

A beautiful city with plenty of other places within an hour or so train ride: Parma (cheese and ham), Modena (balsamic and Ferari), Florence (go early to avoid tourist crowds), Ferrara (old world) and loads of others. Use TikTok/Insta to work out where everyone is going and AVOID THEM. There are loads of superb places that are not promoted on Socials and you will avoid the sheep... err, I mean the crowds :) You don't need a guide, ask an AI app to plan a walk round the city. There is sooo much to see and do.

Two or three days are ok to explore the city. Nice food (you need though to check where to go because there are a lot of touristic restaurants with moderate quality). Excellent ice cream, nice coffee bars, interesting shops. Everything is close, easy to get around.

I booked a personal tour, which was very helpful in learning about the history and charm of Bologna; I also booked a food tour of Bologna where the guide identified the unique foods of the area. I took the trolley up to San Luca and walked back down. Stopped at a very charming restaurant right outside the old gates for lunch, and the food was excellent. I found everyone to be helpful, charming, and hospitable. This was a solo trip for me, and I was very comfortable walking all over town on my own.

"Maybe it's the people, maybe it's the place, maybe it's the food, maybe it's just the Italian Magic". This was my second trip to Bologna in the afgelopen 3 months, and it was worth every second of it. From street music, to the 7 secrets of the city, it is an enchanting weekend away. It is a very "undiscovered" city and has maintained its authenticity as an Italian city. Loved every moment.

Easy walkable city and lots to see and do. Many great places to eat and drink so do like the locals do and enjoy an aperitif around 7-8 ish and eat late here. If you like shopping there are many independent shops and the city feels Italian. If you don't like the huge crowds in Florence then Bologna will be perfect.

Me and my friend had an amazing first time in Italy experience thanks to this wonderful apartment located in a walking distance from the city center. The apartment is clean, with comfy bed and a nice balcony. The owners helped us to get from the airport late at night and we sincerely thank them for that. It was an unforgettable trip that left us wanting to see more in Italy. For people visiting Bologna, Cortesia 4 is the best choice.

The apartment is pefect for visiting Bologna. It is very central, very nice furnished, has big rooms. The beds are comfortable, and the communication is great. Check in was easy, we were greated by Lorenzo right on time when we arrived. The windows are thin and you can hear everything happening outside. This is normal in Italy, so it wasnt a problem for us. We would stay here again!

We booked this hotel as it was convenient when coming from the airport to the Bologna central train station with Marconi express. However, the room size, cleanliness and staff professionalism totally exceeded our expectations. It was also very convenient for walking around Bologna, with only 10-15 minutes to the city center.
