Travellers who stayed in Bologna near Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) have said good things about Hotel EMI, Hotel Del Borgo and Villa Aretusi.
World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered better than in this medieval gem.
Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look out for ragú on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savour their food, so a meal can last for hours.
Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops can be found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage listed. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views over this red-roofed city.
The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square are the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088 and home to the city’s best museums.
Bologna accommodation on Booking.com ranges from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.

Everything was of course about pasta but not much else i.e seafood or meat which was a disappointment. There was a lot of construction going on but it will only make it a better place to visit. You cannot fault the train system in Italy. The best!

Bologna is BELLISSIMA.
Bologna is BELLISSIMA. Wonderful architecture, history, art, food and a great atmosphere, especially as I was fortunate enough to be there during the Festival of the Porticos. It was the start of June. I imagine that it must be extremely crowded during July and August!

The old centre of Bologna has much to see and do.
The old centre of Bologna has much to see and do. Very old buildings, a large number of cafes, bars and restaurants. The porticos provide shelter from the weather so you can walk almost every where. We tried to eat and drink away from Piazza Maggiore where it was less crowded. Bologna also provides easy rail access to surrounding towns like Ferrara, Modena and Parma. We spent a week here and loved it.

Wonderful atmosphere, the streets alive with students, not tourists. Plenty of fine monuments within easy walking distance of the centre. Shops, cafes and restaurants outstanding. 2/3 days enough for a short visit, otherwise stay two months or more to absorb the culture of Italy.

Bologna is a city that you must visit at least once in your life. Stroll around, with no map, no plan. Just wander around and discover gems, hidden symbols, museums, street food spots, and medieval architecture. Bologna is extremely photogenic and a true beauty because is a city dedicated to its people. Take your time, and Bologna will stay in your heart forever.

It’s worth the money for short stays.
It is a modern, funky 3 star hotel part of the UNA group. Very well located for
travellers across from Bologna Centrale.
Young, helpful staff with good English. Room was large and very quiet with fresh air as one could leave the window open. The breakfast was adequate and the staff were responsive if there was anything not working or needing to be addressed. The staff was also helpful in providing suggestions and any other information you may require.
We arrived during floodings in Emilio-Romagna region but the host met us outside with an umbrella. The house was magnificant, renovated art deco building from the 1930s. The room was TOP-Notch. Host helped us plan our Italy stay and warned us about flooded roads which was very helpfull. The bus stopped right outside and took you for 1 euro to central Bologna. Breakfast was nice and familier. Highly recommend. We will stay here next time we visit Bologna for sure.
Very central hotel in the middle of the old part of the city. Surprisingly easy to reach by car and a great locked car park at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. Clean and large rooms. For a nice dinner or glass of wine very close to the hotel we had the restaurant InCantina just 100 m away recommended by the hotel. Highly recommended. Very close to almost all sights in Bologna
Excellent value, location, comfort and care. Sweet and very centrally located. Camilla and the staff went above and beyond with recommendations and assistance, very helpful even when I had to make some last minute changes. This is everything you look for in a boutique hotel. Felt safe, cared for and very much at home - I will certainly be booking it again for our next trip to bella Bologna. Grazie!
Not just a hotel. It s a project!!!
Friendly and polite staff, very clean, safe and everything well organized. Loved the bed and the bathroom. The location is fantastic, 3 minutes walking from Bologna Centrale so you can take the Marconi Express to the airport and trains to many destinations to Italy. I wish we could stay a couple of days more….
