We stayed for two weeks in a vacation home on the Altrano side. Then, after travelling in Tuscany for a couple of weeks we stayed in Firenze for the last two nights of our trip. We are frequent travelers to Italy an Firenze is one of our very favorite cities. We always look forward to finding new restaurants and bars in the city. Florence was amazing!
Florence was amazing! So much to see and do and not enough time. My highlights were the Uffizi Gallery where the Birth of Venus is (its even more beautiful in real life), Galleria University where you will see the statue of David (he's bigger than you think!), and all the amazing food choices (The Florentine steak is a must, as is some gelato). Trips to the Tuscan countryside were the highlights. Chianti Hills and the small towns were fabulous. Florence museums... well, you can't see them anywhere else in the world. Stunning. It was by far the best stay we had between Pisa, Florence and Rome. She even got me a bottle of wine for my birthday! There's so many little things that she does for that it really sets this place apart from the rest.
