Helpful staff, great rooms, nice to have the bar and restaurant in the hotel. Easy enough to get to Venice however it is a bus and a train and depending on where you are going a Venice a boat as well. As a family with young kids we were happy to have a nice room with food on site but location is a bit a of journey into Venice— enough but lengthy.

Everything was as described. Close to the tram station to Venice.
6.min form the bus from the airport. Good restaurants nearby (walking distance).
Nice and quiet neighborhood.
Located just across the lagoon from the Venetian islands, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice and has cheaper accommodations, with easy transport links to the historic center. However, the city has more than just cheap hotels going for it.
Host to several festivals throughout the year, huge Parco San Giuliano has fantastic views across the lagoon towards the Campanile and dome of St Mark’s Cathedral. Also worth a wander round is Forte Marghera, a former Austrian fortress on an island in the middle of star-shaped canals. One canal continues into the center of the city and is lined with restaurants and bars.
Pavement cafes can also be found in Piazza Ferretto, a triangular square with a 12th-century clock tower at one end and the Teatro Toniolo at the other. This popular spot for a passegiata also has a modern fountain and several boutiques. Also good for shopping in Mestre is the Le Barche center, a rather uninspiring building from the outside, but packed full of stores.
As for nightlife, Mestre has a number of clubs, including one at Tessera near to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Don’t fly out of there without having tried the little homemade cakes called "mignon".

Although some areas of Mestre might seem a bit unusual at first, we never felt unsafe. We stayed cautious, as many people had warned us about pickpocketing, especially in Venice, but we didn’t have any unpleasant experiences. People were curious but respectful – probably just used to tourists.

Mestre had lots of cafes, restaurants and shopping facilities with tons of beautiful buildings. it’s also very easy to get across to Venice by bus or train and of course, slightly cheaper to stay than in Venice itself.

Mestre is a convenient and budget-friendly place to stay...
Mestre is a convenient and budget-friendly place to stay when visiting Venice. It’s very well connected — trains and buses run frequently, and you can reach the island of Venice in just 10 minutes. The area has everything you need: supermarkets, cafés, small local shops, and plenty of restaurants.
During my stay, I visited Parco di Villa Tivan and Porto Marghera, and really enjoyed walking around — it was interesting to see a different, more local side of the region. I also had a great meal at a nearby Chinese restaurant — the food was delicious, and the prices were quite reasonable compared to more touristy spots.
That said, like in many cities, I wouldn’t recommend walking alone late at night in some parts of Mestre. It can feel a little uneasy, and you might encounter some unpleasant individuals. As long as you stay in well-lit areas or go out with others, it’s generally fine.

The city is dirty. The city is a suburb of Venice.
The city is dirty. The city is a suburb of Venice. The city is full of immigrants. On a holiday, it was hard to meet an Italian. The family did not feel safe, even though no dangerous situation had occurred.

Mestre is definitely underestimated area of majestic Venice!
Mestre is definitely underestimated area of majestic Venice! I have just distributed this very location such as lovely Italian atmospheric place with a variety of restaurants with an international cuisine, bars, coffee and souvenir shops, clothing store with different budgets. Jewelry Stores with more exquisite products and also a bit touristy like. Museums and Art Galleries. Parks.

The hotel is situated a 100 metres from Mestre train Station and the stop for the direct bus to Piazzale Roma in Venice. There are many bars and restaurants close by ( I especially enjoyed eating at Da Michele 50 metres away!) The staff of the hotel are friendly and efficient.
Very clean quiet room at the back of the hotel. Great location very close to Mestre old centre with nice bars and historic buildings. Also opposite the hotel is a bus stop for Venice bus - it was really convenient to be able to buy the bus tickets at hotel reception.
The staff was courteous and attended to the enquiries and requirements. The rooms and washrooms were clean. Locationwise also , it is well connected to venezia Mestre train station and Venice through Buses. Terraglio teano bus stop is at a walking distance.
Location was great. Walking distance from Venezia Mestre rail station which was super convenient. Loved the vibe of a & o and would definitely recommend younger travelers book here if you take a trip to Venice.
The location is nice. Mestre was not our destination, as we did not find a hotel in venice for our group, we decided to book in mestre, the closest town from venice.
