The location was excellent (just inside Porta di Sant'Agostino; parking very close for those who need it). Room was very clean and was large by Italian standards (plus: shower had amazing water pressure!). Breakfast was minimal (plus: all the "torte" were outstanding and made by owner, Antonia). The restaurant was undoubtedly the best we experienced during our three-night stay (based on portion size, price, choice, and quality).

Fabio is a fabulous host! Even though the reviews say it is dated, it is a little and it doesn’t matter. Fantastic location, fantastic host. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

A special experience indeed. The family was nothing short of fantastic. It's rare to find hosts so dedicated to their guests comfort and enjoyment. The highlight of our stay had to be the tasting of incredible Eraldo's natural wines - we were both impressed and inspired by the selection and quality.
Montefalco is a lovely pre-Roman town. Be prepared for incline walking (it is a hill town after all). Piazza del Comune is a good place to sit and people-watch (Enoteca Federico II is a comfortable choice). Many shops sell local and hand-crafted products (in addition to expected wine and olive oil). Complesso Museale di San Francesco is well worth a visit to see frescoes by Gozzoli and Perugino. Lots of hotels and restaurants to choose from (I would avoid Il Verziere at all costs. Ended up there by default when Pizzeria La Panoramica was closed and couldn't even eat their gummy crust pizza). A wonderful town to visit. Oh, and remember to visit at least one or two wineries. Scacciadiavoli was especially informative and provided an excellent tasting experience.

Montefalco is absolutely beautiful.
Montefalco is absolutely beautiful. Stunning views, very relaxed atmosphere, great wineries and restaurants. Surrounded by farmland and fields of sunflowers. If you want to escape the tourist traps and relax in the real Italy, this is the place to do it. You will have to book well in advance, but a meal at Via da Mezzo, run by celebrity Italian chef Gioergione Barchesi is a must. Just make sure your really hungry.

The restaurants in Monte Falco are amazing and all in short working distance. The food, wine, ambiance and service is excellent across the board. There are also several scenic spots for drinks before dinner. It's also the perfect home base to visit wineries and beautiful Umbrian towns such as Assisi, Orvieto, Spello and Spelleto.

Montefalco is a charming small town perched on top of a hill, the ‘balcony of Umbria’. There are numerous small bars and restaurants of high quality and with friendly welcomes. We loved the views, enjoyed great food and drank the superb wines from wineries that were a stones throw away.

For a tiny town, there is lots to do and outstanding quality restaurants. Time it right, and you can be there for the harvesting of the grapes, the sagre or for a music festival. On top of that it is so pretty and charming, and the people are welcoming, warm and friendly

Santa Chiara was amazing!
Santa Chiara was amazing! We missed this on our last visit and she was one of the reasons we wanted to return. We had dinner at Alchemisti and it was wonderful as it was on our previous trip. The Gnocchi in Sangrantino sauce is bellissima! We had wanted to dine at Il Coccorone but it was closed - we ate there on our last trip. It is a great town in which to walk the streets. It is one of our favorite places to visit.
The breakfast was adequate and the Manager Roberto was friendly. He only spoke a little English, which is to be expected in a small Italian town. We liked this, as it gave us a chance to try out our Italian. The views of the from the room and balcony are outstanding! The bathroom and shower in room 3 are wonderfully spacious. We thought that that La Rocca offered a very good value for the money. Roberto was happy to make us reservations at the excellent restaurants. In mid April, the town of Montefalco seemed really quiet, especially at night.
Our host Angelo was spectacular...helpful, funny, generous and even drove us up to Montefalco to have dinner and drinks and picked us up! Breakfast each morning was a typical Italian mix of cakes and yogurts juices and great coffee ... great way to start the day....fabulous swimming pool...so close to Perugia, Assisi, Spolato, Spello and so much more...we loved our stay...rooms were clean beds comfy....whats not to like....it comes highly recommended from us and we will be back.
Great value for €€$$
Super cute and a short drive/vigorous walk to the town of Montefalco. Olive groves surround the property and there can sometimes be seen horses grazing there. Apparently at some times of the year you can actually help with the farm work. It was a great base for our explorations of the hill towns of Umbria. We booked the apartment with the kitchen, it had a great view and there is a fantastic butcher just up the road for all your food needs. The owner's father is extremely nice.
A lovely quiet location that is perfect to relax and recharge. Ideal to reach many places and is literally about 5 minutes from Montefalco centro. There's a pool that we had the use of too which was great. The owners are really lovely and made us feel very welcome, a lovely touch too was leaving us some delicious sweet pane to eat with wine. They make their own delicious wines and olive oils that you can buy too. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Perfetto!
It is just like home. very close to Montefalco centre but far enough to enjoy the great vistas of Assisi and the surroundings. Great base to visit the area. Decor inside the apartments is rustic and comfortable.
Nonna Anna is so friendly and helpful. Her freshly baked biscottis are delicious.
stick to their restaurant recommendations.
Thanks Nonna Anna and Leonardo
i would certainly visit again
Overall, all of our expectations were exceeded from the front desk, breakfast and room service.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend the Bontadosi hotel and Spa
in Montefalco. Jade and Silva at the front desk to the breakfast staff team all were exceptional.
The location is wonderful. Public Parking is easy and close by.
Small friendly hotel which is situated just inside the walls of the town. Room was scrupulously clean and very comfortable. Nice little roof terrace with seating and shade which was an unexpected surprise. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a good value short stay in Montefalco.
Barbara who checked me in was amazing. The perfect host. This was the nicest accomodation I’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was also amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone going to Montefalco. I can’t wait to return. I’d give it an 11 out of 10 if I could! Grazie mille!
The family who own this property are wonderful. Extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There is free water and juices and the freshly baked croissants for breakfast were delicious. We hope we have a chance to visit this charming hotel again.
Wonderful location in Montefalco, with a gorgeous balcony and incredible views of the town and surrounding countryside. A very magical place! The host was also lovely and very easy to deal with, and the check in/out process was seamless. A great stay for us.
Very close to Montefalco, small village with a lot of restaurants. Neighbourhood is beautiful: hills with vineyards close by and mountain tops behing them. Ideally for wine tourism: we visited some wineries for the lovely sagrantino wines.
Absolutely everything! The staff are phenomenal, the property and grounds are stunning. The suite was beautiful and very spacious. The balcony view overlooking the courtyard, fish pond, gardens and Umbria countryside is a sweet dream.
A friendly family-run hotel in a brilliant location in the heart of Montefalco; we have stayed before and will stay again next time we visit the area. The breakfast is really good and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Our accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The beautiful town of Montefalco is very close by. and many other interesting towns are easily reachable. Luciano and Anna are delightful, and extremely helpful.
Paola was very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was ample and the location just outside of Montefalco gave a countryside feel with a close proximity to the city. The views were great!
