It is a really charming apartment at the center of Pavia. It was very clean and spacious. Last but not least, the communication with the owner was great. The details we were given were crystal clear. Also if you travel by train is next to the train station, making it a very nice choice.

I was there to photograph several churches but found the city charming and could have enjoyed another day there. The Hotel Moderno right across from the train station was a great choice given its location close to the historic center, reserved on street parking, and proximity to the train station.

Pavia was a great non-tourist town. University vibe, well kept buildings and streets. Nice historic center and river area. Good restaurants. For a break from all the tourist, big city hustle - Pavia was perfect.

If you like interesting old churches and a lively town...

If you like interesting old churches and a lively town centre Pavia is a great place to visit for a couple of days. About 5 miles out of town is an amazing monastery complex. You can get there by bus or train but these methods required too much walking in the intense heat so we took taxis. Well worth a visit. Everyone friendly and helpful.

Pavia has wonderful medieval churches and a big museum at the Castello. The tomb of St. Augustine is amazing, and is a favorite stopping point of Pope Leo XIV. Boethius is also buried in Pavia. The city still keeps traditional Mediterranean hours (2-2 1/2-hour break midday), so it takes a day or two longer to see all the sites. We found good restaurants and would happily have stayed longer. It is said that April-May are the best months to visit, and it was already hot (80 degrees) at the end of May.

I've visited Pavia a few times.

I've visited Pavia a few times. In a recent visit, I went to the Museo Kosmos, the Natural History Museum. Founded in the 1700's it's one of the world's oldest museums dedicated to natural history, but with a modern vibe - apparently over 500 exhibits (I didn't count them!), multimedia games, videos, interactive activities for children. An excellent place of learning.

Pavia has a modern centre and the older part has some lovely buildings. Certosa di Pavia, an old monastery, is 9 minutes by train (don't forget to validate your ticket in the machine next to the platform entrance). Do check the opening times, though. Pavia would also be convenient for visiting other cities in the area

The location of the apartment was very central, there was parking and the accommodation was of a very good quality with none of the usual gaps in/non-operational facilities. Very professional all round. And the patron was exceedingly attentive, informative about the facilities and what to see in Pavia, and was readily available to deal with any matters that arose. Again very different from many other lets. This is a proper, serious place where one can enjoy a relaxing and very comfortable stay.

Amazing staying 15 minutes walking distance from the very heart of Pavia. The host Alberto fixed for us a late check in and we could even park the car inside (although there are plenty of free parking spots around). The room was very nicely decorated and clean. We had plenty of towels for showering and a very nice breakfast on demand prepared by Alberto himself, with small croissants, cappuccino and tea. Definitely, best place to be in Pavia!

Nice hotel. Quite good location - needs some walking to get to the center. The staff were helpful. The room was comfortable, except the bathroom, with very good air-condition. There is a large garage for card and bike, though we couldn't charge our ebikes there.
