From the video showing the route to take the lifts up to the hotel, to breakfast and our room, it was lovely. The veranda overlooking the village was a bonus since we didn't have a balcony. We were certainly fit at the end of our stay walking up and down the hills, but we did use the lifts if we felt we needed to. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Francesca and Daniela were so lovely and accommodating. Francesca gave us lots of fantastic recommendations. The room was small, but it was all we needed as two travelling friends - it was very clean and had everything that we needed (including a kitchenette!). This property was located 5 minutes' walk from the beach, and right in the heart of Riomaggiore. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and I hope that I can return soon!

Riomaggiore was a lovely little village in Cinque Terre- and our favorite of the five. We only had a short time there, but loved every bit of it. The beautiful views of the sea and the picturesque town built right into the cliffs were better than expected. We enjoyed where we stayed and took a boat tour that was fabulous and created wonderful family memories.

Riomaggiore was magical!

Riomaggiore was magical! We were only there for 3 days and we were so sad to leave! Words cannot describe this place, you really need to stay here to truly take in how magical it is! We loved the food and people at Old School Cocktails and Food and the gelato was amazing everywhere! We tried so many different places to eat and get drinks, all were wonderful!

Where do we start! We are athletic family.

Where do we start! We are athletic family. Everywhere in town was heslthy evidence of stairs and walking to and from fun, nature, the training, churches, the castle. It is a great start for the SVA and many other trails. If you want to eat healthier than just cornetto and cafe, it’s available, just look at Coop5 and other negozzio stores. Now the ocean activities! The hidden river rock beach is spectacular, be brave and in seconds you are bobbing to body surfing. On the other side of the rock wall, choose a boulder( wear grippy shoes!) and experience amazing calm clear swimming near the fishing boats, don’t forget your goggles to see the schools of fish! If you have moxie, swim across the way to the rock formations and climb up to jump a10 ft comfortable cliff jump! There’s higher, but I left that to my adult sons and the teens! The restaurants are amazing: Il Grottino and gelatetia artegianale- she’s the best! If you are a post card lover, stamps are sold at venders with a capital T and a star shown and the Mail Drop is an orange box. 3 euro for international mail to US! We wish we could stay … forever!

I wish I had booked 1 more night at Riomaggiore and explored Corniglia and Vernassa from this base. One night is certainly not enough. Also book a boat ride with Captain Jenny Boat Heyna. Valentina is an excellent host and helped carry my bag up the stair case - what a relief!!

Stay in the villages to truly appreciate Cinque Terre.

Stay in the villages to truly appreciate Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is so special in the morning and at night after the day trippers have gone. The 2 1/2 hour boat tour (Getaway Boat Tours) was the highlight of our time there. We also swam at the little beach area past the ferry landing. It was rocky but the water was perfect. Our host was able to get us set up with the Rio Tourist Card which allowed access to the Via dell'amore trail without a time reservation. I wish we had been able to stay longer and could have taken more time to hike between the other villages.

Riomaggiore is very quaint and charming.

Riomaggiore is very quaint and charming. Yes there are a lot of stairs, but well worth the climb up and down. The harbour is gorgeous but the views from the elevated areas are quite spectacular. We hired a double kayak from here and the sea was calm and easy to navigate. Transport between there and the other four villages is easy via the regional train or you can hike for wonderful views. Trails are challenging in places but well marked and some even have ‘watering holes’ along the way.

Our stay at Alla Marina was incredible! Sandro was such a thoughtful host – starting with offering to pick us up so we wouldn’t get lost (and helping with our lugagge!), to advising us of the best spots to see during our stay, suggesting activities based on what we wanted to do, and connecting us with the right people - it felt like nothing was ever too much trouble. The room was comfortable, the location perfect, and the view was stunning. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Cinque Terre/Riomaggiore!

I would give 20 stars for the location! The terrace and view is the most beautiful in cinque Terre. Also the outdoor dining table, ping pong table in the terrace, and sunset view. We liked that it was secluded and away from the main town in a very quiet corner of Riomaggiore. Barbara and her husband were helpful from the moment we entered town. From parking the car to helping with our luggage, they were always there to help. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in cinque Terre - this really is the best place.

A lovely room in an excellent location. It gives the opportunity to visit the other villages of the Cinque Terre, while enjoying the quiet mornings and evening of Riomaggiore. Room was quite large. Had all the facilities needed. Communication was also excellent. 10/10 review. Hope to be back :)

Very close to the tunnel so you can get there easily and conveniently. WhatsAPP is the way to get information so communication is not a problem. The price is reasonable within the hotels of Cinque Terre.
