It was a great location, with a beautiful view from our terrace and easy access down to the village. We loved our room and bathroom, and the hosts were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved our stay!

The location was amazing!!! The balcony was perfect for enjoying the morning sun with our coffee and watching people visiting the harbor. Evenings were equally fun to sit and drink wine on our private balcony with the all the sights and sounds of festivities below full of people on patios and socializing. Everything shuts and then all your left with is listening to the waves crashing from our room, it was was such a special part of being on the Mediterranean!!

I wish I had booked 1 more night at Riomaggiore and explored Corniglia and Vernassa from this base. One night is certainly not enough. Also book a boat ride with Captain Jenny Boat Heyna. Valentina is an excellent host and helped carry my bag up the stair case - what a relief!!

Stay in the villages to truly appreciate Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is so special in the morning and at night after the day trippers have gone. The 2 1/2 hour boat tour (Getaway Boat Tours) was the highlight of our time there. We also swam at the little beach area past the ferry landing. It was rocky but the water was perfect. Our host was able to get us set up with the Rio Tourist Card which allowed access to the Via dell'amore trail without a time reservation. I wish we had been able to stay longer and could have taken more time to hike between the other villages.

Riomaggiore is very quaint and charming.

Riomaggiore is very quaint and charming. Yes there are a lot of stairs, but well worth the climb up and down. The harbour is gorgeous but the views from the elevated areas are quite spectacular. We hired a double kayak from here and the sea was calm and easy to navigate. Transport between there and the other four villages is easy via the regional train or you can hike for wonderful views. Trails are challenging in places but well marked and some even have ‘watering holes’ along the way.

Wonderful town and great restaurant choices.

Wonderful town and great restaurant choices. Best seafood cones are found in RIomaggiore. Short walk to Manarola so ideal to hop back and forth without having to get on the train. Great breakfast spot was Old School Cocktails and Food.

A good atmosphere but not too noisy.

A good atmosphere but not too noisy. Ideal base for exploring the Cinque Terre. Good train and ferry connections. Good mix of bars and restaurants. Like the other CT towns, you need to be comfortable with lots of steep steps to explore. Riomaggiore does have two lifts to help get around, but perhaps not the best location for those with some mobility challenges.

Quaint little village with lots of excellent restaurants/shopping. Easy day trip train rides to visit the other villages of Cinque Terre. Bring your walking shoes, the inclines can be steep and highly recommend exploring the hiking trails. Amazing views!

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in Cinque Terre, look no further than this gem in Riomaggiore! Clean, lovely accomodation with a wonderful terrace. We sat and drank local wine with takeaway pizza and watched the sunset - truly magical. Gianluca was attentive and quick to answer any questions we had which was so appreciated. I will be recommending this stay to everyone I know. A bonus note for any Queer/LGBTQIA+ travellers, my partner and I felt very welcome here. Take this as your sign to book! ❤️

This was a wonderful stay, amazing hospitality from Mario & his family. The wine, beer, pesto and pasta provided was a lovely touch. Amazing view from the property and it was great to have access to a washing machine & kitchen. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cinque Terre! Note, the best way to get there from the train station is to take the public lift up, less than five minutes walk from there without any stairs. This costs 2 euro or is free with the tourist card.

The property is very well located to explore Riomaggiore and the train station is easily accessible by foot to visit the other Cinque Terre villages. The room is super clean and modern. Andrea is a great host, always answers super fast, gives great recommendations and always made sure we had everything we needed to feel at home. Parking was easily arranged for extra charge, it is possible to park in a parking garage really close to the apartment.
