We took the train into Rome from Florence merely for the overnight day before our flight back to New York. While this hotel is not necessarily close to FCO, it is very close to a shuttle bus service with a nonstop direct route to our terminal. The price of the trip was very inexpensive, I think it was about seven dollars in the pick up point with less than a quarter of a mile from the hotel. Our room was in an annex building about 100 yards away from the primary Hotel building. It was a decent day as a last minute behind. The neighborhood was safe and just a short walk to some shopping areas really can't say much more about the place we arrive the late in the day and departed early the next morning.

Very busy during jubilee year, but not anything that could put me off going back - we stayed in rome for just 36 hours and managed to see everything we wanted to. We did it walking but was very tempted by the tour bus service available, but wanted to do it on a budget. It wasn’t too expensive, and easy to get around. Definitely could have stayed for longer, but if you want a short trip on a budget you can do it in a full day!

It's a very busy city as expected, with all major tourist attractions rammed with visitors. Do your research in advance to schedule your sightseeing visits according to length of stay. Can easily do all in 2/3 days without too much effort. If you get tired of walking, getting about on buses is cheap and easy. A decent app on you phone such as Transit makes this experience so much easier. Just tap your debit / credit card on entry for payment but make sure to check in advance how to use buses correctly especially to validate paying for journey as plenty of inspectors about and on the spot 105 euro fine for not having paid. I am a poor little tourist excuse holds no water. Trastevere makes a refreshing less busy dining out experience at suitable times. Worth getting a short bus trip out to the catacombs for an inexpensive guided tour. Check out lunchtime closures in advance to avoid a long wait in the heat. Trattoria Luzzi close to the Colloseum is a little gem of a find excellent food, great service and so inexpensive.

Besides all the usual favourites - I'd suggest a golf cart tour to "tick them off" especially if you want to avoid the summer heat - consider booking an evening at the Navona Queen Rooftop Terrace to experience the most incredible sunset! Super friendly owner and staff made it so special. An evening sunset stroll with dinner next to the river is memorable.

Rome has changed since i was last there in the fact that they now appear to charge for access to all of the historical sites It was very crowded and the lines were long to access the historical sites My advice was to go to the ticket offices on site rather than buy online As they are a half the price and on the Palatine and the Collesseum the lines were shorter for site bought rickets The Vatican museums also had long lines and ic you were not on a guided tour or had not purchased an express ticket be prepared to wait for one to two hours for entry The museum used to exit into St peters itself but now this is a separate line (although it is free to enter) The museums can be confusing but they are is well laid out and well labelled The other sites I recommend a good guide book and time to walk through them

Great city, bulding desing and structure look great, I think it is a shame that they are remodeling some building and make it look more modern, with glasss, I think the city need to be better kept up and can be cleaner but still keep the structure the same, it si what make the city beautiful. Food need to be better, Pizza and pasta not even close to small town food. people are not very friendly. service on food very bad but tip is included on ticket but if you only speak American English, they ask you for tips in cash only.

Wonderful city. Enjoyed the sights and coffee shops. I preferred to be in the less touristy areas as it was more authentically Italian. Italy is just like the movies. 3 to 4 days in the city should be enough. Traveler tip: Shop at local supermarkets and stock up on extra protein as its quite hard to find restaurants that sells more than bread pasta and pizzas.

We stayed at the hotel in Rome for 6 days. Comparing the other hotel I stayed in Firenze, of course, there is a difference between a 5-star and a 4-star, but the satisfaction level is so high that NH Collection is considered the best choice for my trip to Italy. Also we especially appreciate the professional and friendly response of staff Febrovia at the reception desk. If I travel to Italy in the future, I have no doubt that I will choose NH Collection again.

Absolutely lovely staff were so helpful and all spoke excellent English. Very professional and the hotel was just what I needed for my last few days in Italy. This hotel exceeded our expectations for Rome. We stayed in 12 hotels/farmstays over 4 weeks for our European trip (Holland, Italy, Paris) and this was one was the absolute best value. The bed was in the top 3, the room was very spacious for a major city hotel and the bathtub would have been amazing if it wasn't 36 degrees out. I was tempted to have an ice bath but I had no access to ice.
