Hotel Executive, now under new management, is in the Scacciapensieri residential district of Siena, a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Two main problems - no A/C and poor internet. They advertise as a high quality internet but I had to use my roaming to work. The Air Conditioner did not work at all. Our room was almost 30 degrees, bizarre.

Just 65 ft from Piazza del Campo square, the Tre Donzelle is set in a historic building of the 15th century. It offers free Wi-Fi in the hall, and basic, spacious rooms.

This year we stayed again at fabulous Alberto Tre Donzelle. The location is absolutely perfect for us! Really so much of gorgeous Siena is within easy walking distance. Also, fabulous and not-too-expensive dining is very close by. Getting there includes an easy (and inexpensive) bus ride from the train station and then a short walk to Alberto Tre Donzelle. The staff is friendly and helpful

We have stayed here perhaps half a dozen times since 1974 for our first wedding anniversary. Love the comfort, the elegance, the beautiful gardens, and the generous breakfast. The staff is attentive.

FAQs about hotels in Siena

Romantic Renaissance

Surrounded by rolling hills and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!

Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic center. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.

The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodations deals on Booking.com!

I absolutely fell in love with Siena.

I absolutely fell in love with Siena. This charming little town stole my heart with its winding streets, unique atmosphere, and timeless beauty. The local cuisine is delicious, and so is the Chianti wine. I could wander through its alleys for hours, feeling the spirit of its historic contrade. Although Siena looks like a place frozen in time, life here flows in perfect harmony with its historic charm. It doesn’t feel like stepping back into the past, but rather like witnessing how the locals seamlessly blend tradition with the present day — preserving the spirit of this ancient town. Unlike Florence, Siena isn’t overrun by tourists, which only adds to its authentic character.

Easy to walk around if you are reasonably fit. That way you don’t miss anything . Don’t stick to main centre- walk all around . Also we went on the bus to San Gimingnano which was easy to use contactless or with a pre bought ticket from the ticket machine

A beautiful city full of magnificent art.

A beautiful city full of magnificent art. The Duomo is probably the most beautiful we have had the pleasure to visit - simply stunning. The food scene is very good. Lots of places to snack or eat a meal. Watch out for the restaurants in the main square - not good value. However, if you want to people watch then it is the place to sip a coffee, or something stronger, late afternoon

Siena is beautiful, safe, and manageable BUT you must recognize that uphill walking -- sometimes stairs, sometimes steep inclines -- is always required. If you have mobility issues, choose another town, and hilly Tuscany may not be for you.

Siena is a lovely city in the middle of beautiful Tuscany.

Siena is a lovely city in the middle of beautiful Tuscany. We spent 5 days there. Had we wanted to do more touristy sight seeing we could could have spent more time, but our goal was to just hang out, get the feel of the city and countryside. One thing to note, the center of the city is extremely hilly, as are all of the small cities in that area. So the location of the hotel, LaVilla, situated just out of the city center in a flat area was perfect. We didn't have to roll our luggage was up and down the city center streets. Wear very comfortable sturdy shoes ( athletic shoes are best, you need more support than Sketchers) so your feet/legs can handle all the up and down walking. I'll be back!

Siena is a very special town. This was our third visit.

Siena is a very special town. This was our third visit. Piazza del Campo is the center of everything and it does not matter how often you visit it, it amazes every single time. If you are there for a short visit, go to Parcheggio Santa Caterina. From there is about 3 minutes walk to the escalators that take you to the Duomo di Siena. Or walk up Via Fontebranda and you get straight to Piazza del Campo, short but steep walk. When you are up there most other streets are easy to walk.

Siena is my favorite city in Italy and it's all because of Villa del Sole Siena! The view was fantastic and all the staff were kind and friendly. The breakfast was good, and they offer dinner only for the guests which was also really good. The room was clean, cozy and spacious with large shower booth. There was literally everything I need including free bottles of water, shower robes and slippers. I'd definitely recommend this place and I hope to come back soon!!
