Trani is a jewel on the Adriatic with an incredible history .. Trani was a major trading center due to its position on the Adriatic . They wrote the first European marine code in 1107 (or around that date ) The houses are beautiful all sunwashed different colors. Everyone seems happy and relaxed . They are happy to help you find where you're going,Oh and the food ? You can eat very well for very little . Also I never saw a homeless person , or a policeman or heard a harsh word from parents to children between couples. The beach is the best . I never realized how much I hated sand . The white pebble beach is perfect, clean, nothing sticks to you like sand dies and the water?!. The water is warm , and welcoming not salty like California
The port is also beautiful with fish caught and brought directly to the port restaurants where you eat fresher than fresher than fresh . I could go on , the cathedral, the castle but see for yourself!!

The host was very accommodating.he let us store our luggage and drove us to the train Station. The bed was very comforable. The room is spacious and in a beautiful old building. It is one flight of steps up to the hotel and there is no elevator, but it’s not difficult.

Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia.
Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia. Trani has loads of different restaurants and fabulous clothes shops. Try to have dinner on the Port of Trani and watch the fisherman bring in their catch and sell it on the side of the port near the Cathedral of Trani. The terrace bar at the Ognassi Hotel is very special and totally worth a visit too.

Trani was not preplanned....we found a B&B last minute, which was fanatastic, we were outside the holiday season so the Town was quiet, the harbour front offered many bars & restaurants, although we found a really good pizza bar on the back street, Art 'e' Arcimboldo Pizza Bistrot.
The Cathedral (plus Bell Tower 250+steps) & Castle both worth a visit, both offering alternative views of the Town below & harbour.
One night/day probably enough.

Diverting to Puglia was a last-minute decision for us, and we were not disappointed. Trani is a small but bustling city with good train access, a few sites of historical interest, and a fabulous harbor to the Adriatic Sea. Because it was not high season, when the tour busses left their day-stops, we felt like two of only a few tourists left in town.
Trani is the place to go if you are a seafood lover. At dusk, the fishing boats pull into the harbor, back up to the dock, and offer up their daily catch. Locals browse from boat to boat, loading up on whatever looks best, and restaurant patrons feast on the freshest of fresh fish and shellfish that evening. We had an incredible meal at Osteria ai Platani (highly recommend).
Had we planned this stop, we'd have stayed at least one more night for the food, wine, and ambiance alone.

The B&B is really nice, set within a family-run villa, in a relaxed setting with plants, and not distant from the sea promenade. The hosts Simonetta and Francesco were caring, warm and welcoming, and very helpful.
It's a short drive, ca 10min, to the outstanding beaches in Bisceglie, while being only a 5-15 min walk from the beaches in Trani. The city centre is about 20min away on foot by the seafront, with plenty of bars and restaurant (with choices ranging from the cheap to the Michelin-starred).
The host is very friendly and nice. She allowed us to drop the luggage in the morning before checking in. As well as to check out a bit later.
The room was clean and had all we needed.
It is approx. 12 minutes walking from the Trani castle and 5 minutes from the railway station.
The breakfast was very nice in a nearby cafe.
We enjoyed our stay in Citta di Trani. The location was perfect and Diamore left us a great experience, high ceiling and calm / quiet hotel, breakfast at rooftop was splendid.
We attended a wedding during this weekend and was a perfect spot to chillax.
The owners is very nice and helpful.
We came to Trani for a wedding. This little apartment was perfect for us because, it was close to the shops and about a 10min walk to the train station and a big plus was that it’s right across from the owner’s shop, he is very friendly 😊.
The property is brilliantly located right on the harbour in Trani. It is fully furnished with everything you could require. Rosella is a great hostess and was very helpful throughout our stay.Highly Recommended.
