From the moment you enter the gates you are treated with impeccably well manicured gardens. With plenty of parking if traveling by car. Walk into reception and you are greeted by the most welcoming host, Manuel who is very eager to explain things about the hotel and things to do around Tropea. Our room was very clean, nicely furnished and had a balcony overlooking the immaculate kept pool area. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to swim in the pool. The relaxed outdoor area in the shaded garden is a perfect way to eat an excellent delicious buffet breakfast with a large selection of home made savory food, sweets and espresso coffee,
Thank you to the friendly ladies who always served breakfast with a lovely smile on their face.
Thank you Manuel and team, for the best experience in Calabria.
See you again soon.

I love the room and facilities in the room. It’s really quiet area with a little garden outside. The owner, Francesco, was amazing and even gave us some fresh bananas from his garden. The place is fantastic for a relaxed and private holiday.

Tropea is a very walkable ancient city on a cliff in the Calabria region of Italy. Idyllic is not an overstatement for the town. I enjoyed dinner at La Mura and Le Delizie du Monaceu, but there are many other wonderful restaurants and cafes in the town. Highlights of the sights were the view of the ocean from the cliffs, the Salerno Cathedral and the Santuario di Santa Maria which is accessible by stairs that lead down to Tropea Beach. Tropea is a great place for those who love the sea, ancient architecture and soaking up Italian culture.

Tropea is a quaint town built up the mountains.
Tropea is a quaint town built up the mountains. To go to the beach, lots of steps to go down and then come up after your day. Need very comfortable shoes so easier to walk on cobblestones, and streets go upwards and downwards. Great exercise.
Nightlife in the historical area is great. Lots of restaurants, ice cream shops, places to have a drink and music and entertainment

The walk into town from the Train Station is only 12 mins.
The walk into town from the Train Station is only 12 mins. The town offers over 50 restaurants, the best of which were Il Pinturicchio and Il Convivio. The town has multiple views over the ocean and the street are lined with shops and restaurants for people to enjoy all day lunch and evening. It's very easy to walk around the town of Tropea. the beach below is 150 steps on either side of the town. Take a snorkel and towel to either side of the big rock and enjoy both views with crystal clear blue water and local restaurants. Rent a boat in the Marina for 140 euro and drive around the ocean for 4 hours at your leisure or hire a guide. Eat the local red onions, salads, swordfish, spigot (sea bass), grilled vegetables and the classic spaghetti with clams (vongole) or seafood (frutta di mare), Gelato ever night! Take the train south 1 day for a day trip to SCILLA. Take the train north 1 day for a day trip to PIZZO.

Tropea itself is a beautiful area.
Tropea itself is a beautiful area. The history and the sites are well worth visiting. Sadly because it has been over run with tourists many of the restaurants are poorer quality. They seem to go through the motions and the food is mid grade and service even poorer. I would avoid the historic center for restaurants and go to the outlying areas.

Lovely city. Lots to explore. Beach is great although there are a fair number of steps to reach it. I would Recco staying in the city. Free parking at the station.
Leave your car there and walk down. Our host offered to pick us up and drop us off again but it is approx a 10 minutes walk.

We have spent the past month travelling around the South of Italy by train and a month in Scandinavia before that. This is one of the best apartments we stayed in. Amanda is a caring and thoughtful host who provided everything we needed. The apartment is spotless, spacious, central, and close to the station, beach, cafes, and restaurants. There is one supermarket open long hours. The many restaurants with fantastic fresh produce made self-catering not necessary for dinner. We loved the area and would like to return.
The location was excellent we could easily walk to beaches and the marina, there are literally a hundred restaurants in town and everyone we went to was great. Pino who runs the B&B is the best host we have ever encountered he would be at our door at the appointed time with a wonderful Breakfast each morning!! Also the room was on the 5th floor and it had an elevator so many places we have stayed at in Italy don’t.
Best value for money during our vacation in Calabria (much better as expected by the foregoing ratings). We had a big balconny where we enjoyed the evenings. Location ok, very nice beach on walking distance but Tropea for us too far to walk (so we used the car).
It was very close to shops and restaurants and by far the best breakfast we’ve experienced in our 3 weeks of Italy. Aldo even loaned us a beach umbrella to visit the beach.
