The hotel has terrible noise insulation. We could hear the people in the next room clearly, not shouting just talking. There was also a very loud water pipe running past the room which regularly made a lot of noise. The worst part was there were bed bugs. The hotel denied it, but my partner and I were both definitely bitten and it was the only place away from home we've stayed for weeks. Very luckily we didn't take any infestation away with us! The hotel have of course denied any bed bug issue, saying they sanitise the rooms. I'm not sure they understand how easy it is for bed bugs to get in on a guest and set up home in the room! I hope they have taken our complaint seriously in the background and properly fumigated!
Set between Sanremo and Montecarlo, the Calypso is in the centre of Ventimiglia, just 200 metres from the seaside and 400 metres from the the train station.

The hotel is in a great location, surrounded by nature, near the sea and in a quiet and peaceful area. The facilities are great, clean and with everything you need. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We loved having parking included in the price of the stay. Breakfast offered a variety of sweet and savoury options, all very fresh and delicious. Coffee was also pretty good, which is not always the case when it comes from a machine. Overall, we are hoping to stay again the next time we pass through.
Featuring a swimming pool and free Wi-Fi, La Riserva di Castel d’Appio offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea.

An older hotel in a picturesque location with rooms that have updated facilities. We booked a room with a balcony and were delighted to find the view exceeded our expectations. The staff were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a really enjoyed stay. Having breakfast on the large terrace overlooking the water was delightful. Free car parking is another benefit along with being sent detailed information on how to find the hotel. The alternative route from Ventimiglia is narrow, steep and very windy!
Located just 200 metres from the seafront on the Italian Riviera, Hotel Provenza has air-conditioned rooms with a minibar, private bathroom and satellite TV. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Beautiful apartment hotel, the road up there is not the easiest especially if you have a big car but it's so worth it.
The host is welcoming and does his best to make you feel at home. Amazing home cooked dinner with ingredients we just picked up together from his garden at arrival.
Delicious italian breakfast spread. We only stayed one night but we felt really taken care of.

It is nice and relaxing to stay in the old town, as well as near the centre for the train station. You see both sides of the same town and the 2 languages of Italian and French (I speak both, so this is great). I think Ventimiglia is a hidden gem - very close to both Sanremo and Menton! Great!

The old town was interesting with a view of the marina.
The old town was interesting with a view of the marina. The restaurants offered good quality food at reasonable prices. We had excellent pasta and rice dishes which had fresh fish. It is easy to walk everywhere and the trains were on time and resonably priced.

Unfortunately, the large covered market was closed due to a fire. However, the Friday weekly market was impressive - must be more than 200 stalls!
A short bus excursion to the Giardini Hanbury was very good (but you must be physically fit, as on a steep hillside down to the sea)

Ventimiglia is a traditional border town with beaches, an old quarter, a market, a new marina and usual choice of cafes and restaurants. Excellent location for visiting nearby Italian towns and french towns are easily reached using reliable trains. Great location for visiting Hanbury Gardens (15 minutes by bus).

We liked that Ventimiglia is very close to popular places such as Monaco, Menton, SanRemo. Day trips very easy to do. Some areas of Ventimiglia were dodgy but overall people very friendly, prices reasonable and beaches not overcrowded

Ventimiglia is a little gem of a place.
Ventimiglia is a little gem of a place. Overshadowed by Nice, Monaco and Menton, but take that extra few kilometres into Italy and you will be well rewarded.
Great food, super beaches and everything is a short walk away.

The room and hotel is so beautiful and the atmosphere is very nice. So many interesting details in the interior. The owner of the hotel is a very kind and nice lady! The room was cleaned everyday which is perfect! The breakfast served with homemade bread/pie, coffee/tea, Italian yougurt, meat/cheese, it is not swedish table - you order from suggestions. We are happy to choose this hotel, calm and quiet location but near the sea
I don’t think I ever felt so welcome. Fabio and his mother Rosita know what hospitality means. They were incredibly kind and helpful. My kids accidentally broke 3 glasses at the pool, it was an awful mess, but Rosita was so kind about it and didn’t even make us pay (even though we wanted to). Breakfast was amazing (yoghurt, fruit, eggs, croissants, baguette); Fabio - with obvious hotel experience - is such a lovely host!
We booked accommodation here last minute due to an Italian train strike preventing us from going any further into Italy. The accommodation was better than we expected. Very clean and comfortable. Great communication with the host despite us speaking English and him speaking Italian.
Really nice apartment in Ventimiglia within short distance of everything like restaurants, the old city and the beach. The beach was very nice and also the port of Ventimiglia. The hosts were really nice and helpful with many tips of things to do. We will defenietely come back.
Very friendly and helpful staff!
Nice hotel, clean, comfortable, extremely well located. I will definitely come back next time I pass by Ventimiglia.
Very good value for the money. The breakfast was extra (as published), but very affordable and tasty
